Get your Bitlocker key first!!
It may be a little unfair to take a star from this product because I guess it isn’t really their fault for not providing any instructions. However, on the off chance that someone will read this I’m going to lay it out. Installing the module was very easy and there are many YouTube videos showing you how. However, once I put it in my laptop (a Dell Inspiron 7570) things turned bad quickly. It wasn’t the fault of the seller here, the module works fine now. But here’s what I needed to know before installing it:Obtain your Bitlocker key. This is a feature of Windows 10 that has something to do with encrypting information. You can get it by logging into your Microsoft account, so do that before you install the module. Otherwise, your laptop won’t work and it doesn’t prompt you for any information that would help figure this out.Install the module– consult YouTube, lots of helpful videos there to show you where and how to snap it in placeBoot your computer on Safe Mode (if you don’t know how to do this google it first, it’s not hard). This is the only way that it will prompt you to enter the Bitlocker key (I only found this out by accident). After your laptop restarts, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Screen > Restart. This will prompt you for the Bitlocker key, which you can now enter. Then go to Return to operating system and it will boot up as usual.Had I known all of this before I installed the module, I would have saved myself 5 hours of grief! And it wouldn’t have been that hard to include some basic instructions with the module– just sayin’…
