Quieter than others and easy to set up
12,000 BTU Unit – This is the 3rd floor model air conditioner Iâve purchased and I love it. The packaging was very sturdy. Heavy cardboard box, thick styrofoam padding and nylon straps outside the box protected the unit which was delivered in perfect condition. Unpacking was a breeze. One of the things I love about this unit is the exhaust hose is a heavy, more rigid plastic material that easily snaps into the unit. Other units like this came with flimsy exhaust hoses that needed to be stretched over the exhaust port. I always ended up buying heavier hoses and attaching them with large steel âwormâ clamps. Not necessary with the SereneLife unit. The window insert is not as tall as others so it allows more visibility out the window but because of the size and characteristics of my window I had to raise it with a 1â board cut to fit the sill. I also had to trim about 4â from the slide out part for it to fit in my sill. Not a big deal. Took me a minute with my table saw but could easily be done with a hand saw. On a positive note, if you have a very wide window this will fit with no extra work. Also there is a tab to lock the slide expander j to place. Iâve never seen this on previous units. A convenient feature. Now to the important stuff – cooling the house⦠The unit easily cools my L-shaped living / dining room area as well as the attached kitchen. Thatâs about 1000 sq ft.. I do have 2 ceiling fans running at slow speed to help circulate the cool air. It is MUCH quieter than previous units Iâve owned. There is a feature that allows the cool air directors to slowly oscillate up and down. I donât use it but you may find it beneficial. It has a sleek appearance that is aesthetically pleasing. The price was very reasonable for such a powerful, effective air conditioner. Now Iâll mention a few negative issues⦠1. There is no screen to cover the outside end of the exhaust port. Depending on where your window is critters and debris can easily find its way into the hose. Iâm going to make a screen cover for it. 2. The remote is pretty flimsy and there is no display. My other units had remotes that displayed the same info that is in the unit display. Also the lettering of the functions of the remote buttons is really tiny. 3. As stated, the window unit is very low profile and very wide. Depending on the design of your window you may have to raise the window insert and/or trim the width of the slide expander. All easy things to do but know that itâs possible. All and all Iâm very pleased.

Very COOL unit!
I am extremely happy with my purchase of the SLPA8 AC unit from Serene Life. It works well cooling my 10×10 office with a builder grade 60 x 48 inch southeast facing window. Last summer it was unbearable here (Seattle) with temperatures reaching 100 deg F. or more for many days. Since installing the AC unit I am able to instantly cool the office when needed. I find that I do not need to run it all the time, only long enough to be comfortable… usually 15 to 20 minutes at a time providing 1 to 2 hours of comfortable conditions. I seldom use the high setting as low is quite cool. The unit is easy to set up although the supplied pvc window louver is too short for my window. I purchased a 60 x 6 x .5 inch piece of lumber and used my jig saw to cut out the necessary opening and attached the louver to the board. I also purchased pvc half inch pipes to use in the window track and middle of window keeping pressure on the window and eliminating risk of unwanted guests or air gap. Last piece of customization was double sided half inch foam tape between the board and window edge really providing a gap free seal. The unit is rated at 57 db and seems a bit loud but not disruptive. I have a noise canceling speaker and am told others on my Zoom calls cant hear the ac when it is running. It takes up a bit of floor space but its worth the trade off. I have no problem with negative air pressure it just a tad bit more of a pull to open my office door. I have had no problems with the water resivoir filling up nor have I had any issues with power or electricity. I do have it running on a 20 amp circuit which is nearly 3x what is required (8 amp draw when cooling on high setting I believe). The supplied remote is small and easy to use.. not a lot of functions or buttons so it tends to be self explanatory.I am very happy I purchased the SLPAC8 and would do so again.Great experience with fast shipping via Amazon and arrived in the original box and packing materials. One last suggestion, don’t wait til the dog days of summer (like I did last year) as most options sell out quick. No way I was making the same mistake this year!Very Satisfied thus far (nearly 21 days run time).

Let’s write a review for this portable AC I can immediately give 5 stars! A very good air conditioner for the home, easy to install if you follow the instructions, very easy to move on carpet, laminate or parquet. Manula does a great job explaining how to install and why each part is used and how to use it. It fits our window well, there are no air gaps, the pipe is very easy to place where it fits in the window. Not that loud at all, compared to my previous air conditioner, this new air conditioner has even better settings and functions. We are very impressed with this product and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone. Our living room and kitchen are super cool because we set the temperature to 17 Celsius on the low setting. The delivery was excellent, the package was correct without any damage to the package. No issue with electric fuse works amazing.

I live on a lake in the Kawarthas so constant humidity. No difficulty with unit evaporation system and effectively cools my living area and bedroom as a double bedroom window exhaust fan pulls the cool air into the bedroom.
