Best wireless headphones I’ve ever used.
I picked these up after watching a review of the FP9s and almost buying those. I went with the FP5 instead because I didn’t think the extra price was worth the extra features I didn’t need and because I only planned on using these rarely around the house and sometimes when I’m out of the house. After getting them paired up with my iPhone (extremely quick and easy) I was shocked with how good they sounded immediately without any EQing. I installed the TONE app on iOS and changed the EQ settings to Immersive (Natural also sounds great) and I’m just blown away with how well they sound. I immediately paired them with my Android device and Windows PC and started using them as my daily drivers. I regret not getting the FP8 or FP9 headphones because those could only be better than these and were only about $50-$70 more when I was looking. They pair easily with all devices although I did have an issue with my Android phone where I had to pair and then put both earbuds back in the case to reset them because they kept reconnecting every 2-3 minutes, but after resetting them that issue stopped. Both the iOS and Android apps work great although updating the firmware on the earbuds with iOS was slow and mostly didn’t work. I spent about 30 minutes trying to update the firmware on iOS and after it finally “worked” I thought I was good. After pairing with my Android phone the same firmware update was available so I had the Android app update both earbuds and it took less than 5 minutes. I’ll be using Android to update the firmware going forward because of this one issue. I didn’t notice any change after the firmware update so if I didn’t have an Android device I wouldn’t have missed out on anything so I didn’t want to knock off a star for that reason. The comfort level is top notch, but they do not feel very secure with the included tips. I did test them and no matter how much I shook my head or moved around they were not going anywhere, they are definitely secured in place, they just don’t feel like it with other earbuds I’ve used. They really feel like they’re just floating in my ears which just adds to the comfort level for me.I had purchased some Etymotic Research ER3XR IEMs earlier this year for about the same price as the FP5 but the ER3XR were discounted from their $200 MSRP so I was told they were amazing, and they were great, the best pair I’ve owned in a long time, but the FP5 just sounds way better in terms of music. The ER3XR feel more comfortable and I can use them to monitor my microphone on my PC so I still use them, but the FP5 sound better and the wireless convenience has me using them more frequently than I had expected. I was also gifted a Audeze Mobius headset a while back which retailed for either $399 or $499 and, while it did sound really good for over the ear headphones, it didn’t compare to the FP5’s sound quality, comfort, and ease of use.The carrying case is great also, a lot smaller than I expected which was a great relief because I would rather keep it in my pocket than in a backpack. The biggest downside to both the earbuds and the case itself is that it collects lint, dust, and other particles very easily so I find myself cleaning them both every time I go to use them even if I cleaned them all off before I put them away. Not a huge deal, but a bit annoying. So to sum this review up: I really really like the FP5 earbuds, but I secretly wish I had a reason to upgrade to the FP9 model. After going through at least a dozen Bluetooth headsets, some I really liked but didn’t last long, LG made me a fan for life with this product!

    Excellent sound for the price
I remember the first earbuds I ever saw. They were black with a lil blue or red bit at the part where the cable meets. They were connected to a handheld box that had monochromatic tetrominos which dropped one at a time stacking wherever, and at a pace they only little brothers could keep up with. Their shape would hurt your ears after a while, because ergonomics wasn’t a thing back then. And finally, they didn’t really sound good at all.Technology has come leaps and bounds since the Nintendo gameboy, and these LG earbuds offer a ton of features in a tight package. The noise cancelling works fairly well for what they are. The battery life if okay. They’re comfortable to wear for an extended period of time. The app is simple, intuitive, and not intrusive. They sound really good… And the were about 50$.What else can you ask for?

    Great for a non-techy person
They look exactly as they say they do so there’s no need for picturesI’ve had these since early February (currently late August) and have not had most of the problems listed by other reviewers. My favorite things about these headphones is the size. They are VERY small. The case fits perfectly in my hands and I like how small the buds are as well. They go unnoticed easily. The case is very sleek and attractive with the matte and the buds themselves aren’t too shabby either. They don’t look cheap. My boyfriend agreed they look very well made and attractive, and fit into your ears in a very snug, high end type way.The TouchPads are easy to use and with the app you can customize the controls. I rarely use them though bc I find the controls to be hard to remember. I find the app to be quite handy. The headphones connect extremely quickly when you open the case. The first time I connected them it was SO quick and easy, I was shocked. For reference, I am not tech-savvy or a tech-snob. I have only ever used cheap products so my frame of reference is different. I’ve used the soundcore TWE by anker and the SkullCandy Evos and those were both just fine, but the Tone Free FP5 surpass them by many miles.I don’t care much about noise canceling because for me, when the music is playing I’m able to tune everything out. That said- with my previous TWE buds I would be able to hear things with my headphones any lower than 90% especially if they’re louder sounds or closer to me. With these I don’t notice that as much. If I focus hard I can hear my mom playing music in the car, the shouts of people at the park while I stroll, honking of cars while I ride my bike (I of course turn them down if I’m on the road) etc, but it’s faint and very easy for me to tune out as long as I’m not having sensory overload. I don’t find that turning on noise canceling makes all that much of a difference. Things do sound different when you turn it on, but not by a lot. I don’t think it’s worth the battery it uses. As other people have described, the noise canceling does create a sort of white noise sound. I can’t hear it while my music is playing but inbetween songs or when I pause it I can. It’s faint and easy to tune out for me, but if you’re someone who is unable to isolate sounds and gets overloaded by sounds quickly this may be a problem for you, but I would still reccoment trying them and seeing.Ambient mode works well, but I don’t find that the two settings (conversation vs whatever the other one is) make much of a difference. They do definitely sound different but I don’t think they do what they say they do. Putting it on conversation mode won’t actually let u hear conversations around you, at least not distinctly. Rather just a drowned out sort of chattering, like white noise I guess. To hear someone clearly you’d have to also adjust your volume rather low. I still use them when I’m on my bike paired eith 50% volume and it helps me being able to hear someone shouting or honking.I dont know the word but I’m not someone who is super picky about sound quality. I listen to a lot of different types of music, I like to listen to choral arrangements (music major), alot of rock/punk/emo/90s grunge, indie (?), and pop. Rock and indie are my two most listened to genres and rock has lots of electric guitar and drums, so the ONLY sound thing I’m picky on is that the guitars are distinguishable. They shouldn’t sound like static or blend in with everything else. I want to be able to hear them. These earbuds do that perfectly. If you’re someone that is picky about sound quality or has very specific things you’re looking for then your experience might be different, but if you’re just an everage Joe (jane) like me who has no real standards then I’d say this is a spot on observation. There are different sound settings and lots of customization options in app, but since I don’t know what most of it means or does, it’s gone mostly untouched. The buds charge very quickly and hold a charge very well. I haven’t measured how long in between charges but it’s usually a ??? week. I use them probably averagely 8-15 hrs a week just depending and I don’t charge them often enough to even definitively say how much.I find the volume to be well. No problems. Usually 100% volume is too loud for me and I listen at 70-80.The thing I absolutely HATE about these headphones is the feature that pauses them when you remove them. I’m aware most people like this, I HATE it. I’m a very itchy person so I usually itch the inside of my ear or near my ear about four times an hour when I’m wearing buds, which means they’re removed often to itch. It pausing when I do this is INFURIATING. Now you caaan turn this feature off in the app but it doesn’t really turn it off. It just changes how it works. It disconnects the bud temporarily and reconnects it when you put it back in. So the bud still in your ear continues to play while the removed one turns off. This is better, sure, but annoying because it can take 3-5 seconds for it to reconnect. This isn’t all that long but it definitely puts a dent in my listening experience and is quite bizarre. To offset this, I cover the sensor as I take it out so that it still detects as in my ear.Once every 15ish uses it will randomly disconnect and then reconnect when you turn them on, or sometimes in the first four or five minutes of use. And occasionally you have to manually recconrct them, but both these occurrences are rare.I do feel a bit of ear fatigue when wearing these. They go far into my ears which I prefer. They don’t fall out when I smile or run which is great, though when I smile or chew they do move and will have to be readjusted probably once in a five minute period. They protrude out at the bottom next to the stem which is what causes my ears to become sore. I beleive the shape of that part is what specifically helps keep them in your ear though, so not much can be done on that. I have unusually small ears so this might not be a problem for anyone else. Every earbud I’ve used has given me this problem in different places. The sore-ness starts usually after an hour of use but sometimes sooner.I have worn these in the rain (granted not hard rain, usually misting or light rain. ) and have had 0 issues.Overall, i adore these and will purchase the next generation after these break!

Connects easily, Excellent sound I’ve used them a year now.
Hold down button for extra bass. They included different size and tips and the large really stays in well for me What’s important to me is that they connect easily to everything.

It connects super fast and without the slightest fuss. However it sounds hollow, don’t expect world beating performance for music or calls. It is simply doing it’s job as an affordable earpiece. Whatever out of this world review isn’t true. It is decent as a product, nothing more.
