Can’t get rid of the smell…but sounds great!
I purchased the renewed headset and let them air out as they may have been heavily sprayed with some flame retardent chemical. It could be a PFAS chemical but I’m not sure. After trying them on for a few minutes, the sides of my face started to itch and I noticed a rash. After asking another household member to smell the headphones, they were shocked and said that their Bose headphones never smelled as bad when they made their purchase directly from the manufacturer. I’m not sure what I can do to combat the smell other than return the headset. It’s unfortunate because they have great sound otherwise.

Today my wife asked me to turn down noise cancellation because she’s tired of having to scream
She’s seriously like 15 feet away and the door is open. The sound is actually too good and clear at times if a person had the microphone gain up too high and you can hear all the wet parts of their mouth slopping around (looking at you, NPR). Pairs super easily and the iPhone app is great and super easy to use. Comfortable enough to wear all day without issue, and the buttons are a nice way to control things without having to pick up my phone to pause/play or change the volume. The battery life is also great. This is one of the best purchases I have ever made in my life.
