Updated could not receive text messages UPDATED
UPDATE from first review: I am amending the review below. I returned this one and got another renewed one from the same place they were very helpful in their service. they tested the new one before sending it and it worked. They were also very quick in their response time. Unfortunately the problem is with my Verizon account. If only their service was as good I’m still waiting for them to fix the problem. (First Review) I received this phone looked good, Like new, I was unable to activate it for a few weeks because of work. Looks like a nice phone . Set up wasn’t too bad except for the fact that I could not receive any texts. I updated the phone 3 times, and finally did a hard reset. to no avail. I’m going to order the last one and try again. Hopefully it will not have the same problem. After spending 5 hours on the phone with a Verizon service person and taking up my day off. I will update my review when the replacement comes. hopefully It will be better

    2 1/2 months
I bought this phone to replace my old one. The phone was delivered dec 19th today is Mar 20. My lights and picture keeps cutting out, with streaks across the screen. The screen itself is perfectly intact not even scratched, I have a screen protector on it. Its justst a poor product. Now that my wife is due in a month I’m going to have to go buy yet another phone,

Love — Hate RelationshipFeels Like Good Quality
I love this phone. By far the most solid cell phone ever but still a reasonable size and weight. Sonim’s support was well above any other cell phone manufacturer I have dealt with. The Seller had a shipping mishap, but when contacted corrected it very quickly. I would trust them again. The HATE comes with the Lock-or-Unlocked issues. I bought this phone refurbished/used and paid in full by credit card through Amazon. It was described as “unlocked” but was ‘branded’ with the Verizon logo. More than a year later, we moved our phones to Mint Mobile from Verizon. Verizon CLAIMS the phone is UNLOCKED. Mint Mobile says, and Sonim provided at my request a screen shot to support the appearance that on industry data bases (such as IMEI[dot]info) the phone is listed a tied to Verizon. Federal law requires a carrier to “unlock” a phone upon request and not later than 60 days after initial activation. Verizon has not resolved this problem and claims in an email from a send-only mailbox that my “device is not eligible to be unlocked at this time.” Someone in the chain of supply seems to be defeating the Federal unlock law. I liked my Sonim better when it could actually be used.

    A brick!
This is 4th phone of this model and the previous ones were damaged via extreme incidents. Normal wear and tear? Usual drops or water? This phone shrugs them off and doesn’t even show a mark. Only negative is I wish it was 5g.

Unusable phone – locked by Best Buy for only “administrator”
This phone is locked by a program put on it by Best Buy so only an “administrator” can allow setup. Phone keeps resetting to factory defaults. Unusable!

I want to like it, but it has some flaws that make it less than acceptable for me
The phone is sturdy. I like that it has physical buttons (why did they ever get rid of them?). It can get the latest apps and they’re fast enough. My 2 complaints:- Half of the time I turn my screen on, the touch screen is unusable. I have to turn it off and on around 5 times for the touch screen to work. I was hoping this would fix itself if I turned the phone off and on, or if I took off the battery and lightly undusted the insides – but.. nope, still has the issue.- Camera quality isn’t that great (but… honestly I don’t care that much about that – I dislike that the newer phones are so pricy because of their camera!)I’m returning & replacing the phone with Amazon. I think if the touch screen problem is fixed I will have a phone that I will use for several years, and if it doesn’t have this touch screen issue I’ll adjust my review.EDIT: I returned and got a replacement, and this replacement had a different issue with touch screen: the touch screen would sometimes register 2 taps instead of 1 (this would occur once every 10 taps or so). This caused me to typo in my messages, and in some apps press buttons twice which causes unexpected odd behaviors. I returned the replacement as well.

    This phone is trash
I got the phone early which is a good thing. I had to on YouTube to find where to put the Sim card. Then when I put my Sim card in it keeps saying no Sim card. $135 for a paper weight
