Amazing laptop! But they increased the price dramatically.
First note; I bought the laptop for about one thousand eight hundred. It has now increased in price. It is not worth two thousand eight hundred. There are better alternatives for much cheaper. I saw this price increase and my jaw dropped. But this is a wonderful laptop! Gets very hot but performs great at everything I’ve thrown at it. You won’t be playing something like cyberpunk on max settings of course and it struggles a bit with half life alyx in vr but your middle of the road games or for games a few years old it performs splendidly. Not terribly loud. The key letters rub off quickly but I’m a heavy user so your experience may vary. Had it for a couple years now and the SSD it came with has started to die. Very odd. But it has two extra storage slots so not the end of the world.

5 stars… just be aware of WHAT this is and WHY you are buying!!
Firstly, someone in a review previous to this mentioned that this computer gets hot and freezes. While I would understand the frustration that would cause, I ran an experiment of my own when I noticed my Predator getting too hot.1) Be aware of the environment in which you’re going to operate this machine. This is a small form factor PC that is designed to suck up tons of power (to give you performance) and has little to no room for fancy/water coolers in order to truly dissipate that heat. I’ve run serious games on my Helios 300 and yes, it gets very hot. Make sure that you are in a room that is cool (preferably with the A/C blasting) and put it up on a GOOD laptop cooler. The turbo should probably be on as well. After I handled these variables my computer never gets beyond “rather warm” even at full blast with graphics cranked all the way up.2) If previous models or another laptop has something that you know you want and will work exactly as expected… don’t take a plunge on something else which is expensive and then complain afterwards.3) This is a laptop designed to use TONS of electricity! Do NOT expect battery life to be above 4 hours without turning down every single setting you can possibly find.4) The screen on this machine is pretty friggin’ nice. If you’re expecting it to be bigger or nicer… well, don’t.With those out of the way…- Great price on a laptop which is usually way more expensive- I didn’t want this for battery life… it is going to be a desktop queen and go HDMI out –> 42″ Samsung 4k TV as a monitor.- The stupid noise it makes at startup is Acer’s attempt at making it cool I guess? I just found the startup sound annoying, but whatever. On to performance.- FAST by today’s standards (May 2020) all around.- I wanted this particular model and took the risk of “discount” electronics because this model has the top graphics card, 32GB RAM (as opposed to the lesser models which typically have 16) and 6 cores of CPU goodness.- Yes, it gets rather hot. I bought a really nice laptop cooler and programmed the air conditioning in my house to keep things at 69’F. After this and turning on the turbo fan (I find it pretty funny that this rig has a “turbo” button hahahaha…) before starting up a gaming session there are zero problems.****** I would imagine that if you don’t have a cooler or A/C blasting or if you are unable to keep a room at a constant temperature that this laptop would have some heat issues. I don’t care since I have enough brain power to solve that situation but it would probably cause some alarm if someone just set this up out of the box and went to town.- With that being said I will mention that this laptop is AWESOME. I know better than to expect long battery life and no heat issues from a gaming laptop… these are designed to perform. It’s YOUR job to keep it cool. :P- No issues have occurred that I’ve been unable to solve with relative ease (setup, drivers, etc.) so for once in my life I’m actually giving a product 5 stars! I would hope that this machine gives me the longevity I desire… my last gaming laptop was an ASUS that I bought brand new from Costco because of the return policy. It ended up lasting 9 years and still works! Let’s see how this once does…

Great Laptop … BUT, BATTERY !!!!!!!
It’s a great laptop, but the battery isn’t exactly good, at this time it, that’s the only bad point.

    Amazing!
This laptop is AMAZING! The fans are loud when up too high but when I added a quiet cooling pad and turned the fans down on the laptop it worked perfectly. The screen is AMAZING. It’s super fast and I just love everything about it. It’s my first gaming laptop so I don’t know how it compares to others but I am very, VERY happy with it. I pretty much only use my laptop plugged in so have no say as to the battery life but everything else is great!

    Great Workhorse …BUT…
I have my laptop now for about 10 days and tested it nonstop! Here are a couple of pros/cons.Pros:+Great gaming performance!+Games like PUBG, Division2, GTAV run on ultra settings at about 80-100FPS.+no display bleeding at all! (just two dead pixel)Cons:-The surface around the keyboard gets extremely hot! After a couple of hours it is definitely unpleasant.-Some areas CAN’T be touched for long, otherwise you will get burned.-The speaker is pretty bad. Especially if the fan is on maximum, you can barely hear anything.-My box was opened, the seal was cut. If I buy a brand new laptop I expect the manufacturer seal to be intact. If you browse in the web or run office applications, the device is cool and quiet. As soon as you run games the temp goes up to around 89C.I’m glad I got the 4 year extended warranty. Just in case the device fails early due to the extreme heat.Because of the heat issue and the poor speaker I can only give it 3 Stars – Sorry Acer…

    Great Product, As Expected
I was a little hesitant to purchase this because of the huge price cut, but it has been wonderful. It’s exactly as advertised. The fans are kind of loud, but that was expected. I enjoy the predator sense button that pulls up the temp and fan controls. The only downside I have noticed so far, is the battery life isn’t great. It doesn’t bother me much, because I typically plug in when I get to where I’m going anyway.
