Crashed within 30 minutes; returning (replacement a mess too!!!)
Crashed within 30 minutes. Froze and couldn’t even force it to shut down with the power button. Had to remove battery after an hour to shut it down.I sent it back for a replacement. The replacement was still logged into to another person – we had to reset it ourselves. They also sent a nasty, dirty charger along with it. Amazon will only let me review once but I had two bad computers – original and replacement.

Excellent Price for a Brand Name Windows 11 Laptop
This is my first computer with the Microsoft Windows 11 Operating System. I use it mainly for testing the various software packages we develop for Windows.ProsThe Samsung Galaxy Book Go 14 is an economically priced laptop that comes with Windows 11 preinstalled.ConsThere were a some unpleasant surprises after I completed setting up my Samsung Galaxy Book Go 14. Some were due to problems with the Microsoft Windows 11 operating system. The Samsung Galaxy Book Go 14 is extremely slow despite running on a Snapdragon (TM) 7c Gen 2 @ 2.55 GHz 2.55 GHz processor.Forget about using the mouse pad, which looked spacious but could barely move the cursor about the screen. The cursor randomly hopped about the screen on it’s own with no input from the user. However, this problem seems to have subsided with a recent Windows 11 automatic update. The cursor can disappear from the screen altogether before mysteriously reappearing and landing on an application icon or the taskbar. The only way out of this quagmire is to repeatedly press the “Esc” key, plug in a mouse and hope it resolves the issue.Shortly after I began using the Samsung Galaxy on 8/4/2023 the PIN number field went dead and would not allow anything to be entered. The lower half of the screen was no longer visible and there were multiple restarts of Windows 11. In desperation I tried unplugging the mouse which then allowed entering the PIN number. I was down to 45% battery power and decided to shutdown Windows 11 after what appeared to be an unexpected update. When I turned the laptop back on again, I noticed that it only displayed the top half of the screen. The message “Slide to shut down your PC” appeared at the bottom of the screen above an inverted triangle. It would not allow me to get past entering my PIN number. I unplugged the charger and then unpluggedthe mouse and much to my surprise I was allowed to enter my PIN number and things seemed briefly normal again. The laptop shut down a number of times before resuming a semblance of normality. I might have been in the throes of a Windows 11 update. I chose the option to update and shutdown Windows 11.I received a “Low Disk Space” message when updating version 22H2 which was resolved by cleaning the hibernate file, performing a disk cleanup and deleting temp folders. The Samsung Galaxy Book Go 14 charges slowly but once fully charged it has very good battery life. Iested battery discharge and recharge and the results are presented below.Battery Discharge Test:8/28/2023 07:35 PM 100% remaining8/28/2023 08:35 PM 92% remaining8/28/2023 09:35 PM 89% remaining8/28/2023 11:10 PM 85% remaining8/28/2023 11:35 PM 84% remainingTurn Off @ 11:35 PM .. That facility is totally lacking on the Samsung Galaxy Notebook. Despite multiple attempts and instructions provided by many onlinesources, my attempts at making a BACKUP failed dismally.Maybe Samsung has a way to backup their Galaxy Notebook computer, so I thought, but the instructions online were not helpful. So back to Google I went and the only viable option I could find was as follows:From the [Control Panel] choose [System and Security] then choose [Backup and Restore (Windows 7)]Back up or restore your files ..Backup Windows Backup has not been set up .. Set up backup Starting Windows Backup .. Select where you want to save your backup We recommend that you save your backup on an external hard drive Save backup on: Backup Destination Free Space Total Size Elements (D:) (Recommended) 829.62 GB 1.82 TB2 Backup Options offered .. I selected #2 which backed up the files and creating a system image of (C:)..WIN-FLHGN559A78MediaID.bin (528 bytes)WindowsImageBackupWindows Backup”Windows Backup did not complete successfully””The backup completed but some files were skipped.”View files skipped”Backup encountered a problem while backing up file c:Usershydrolinks.”Error:(The system cannot find the file specified.(0x80070002))This means there is NO VIABLE way to BACKUP the files on the Samsung Galaxy Notebook 14. However, Samsung Recovery provides a “doomsday scenario” for restoring the computer back to factory settings.
