    I used to use a suction mounted mount, but it was always falling off when the weather changed, and I had to take it off whenever I visited California. When it finally broke, I replaced it with one of those vent mounts. That didn’t last long, and it blocked my vent which was really annoying, especially on hot days when it blocked the AC.I decided that I wanted to try a magnetic mount since it’s annoying to mess with clips and clamps, so I got one that sticks to the dash with adhesive. After deciding that there wasn’t really an ideal place to mount it, I compromised and sound what appeared to be a secure spot and mounted it. Within 2 days, the weight of the phone had pulled the adhesive off of the mount (still stuck to the dash, so I was convinced I needed a different type of mount.Finally, I decided on a CD slot holder since it had the benefit of being centrally located, but would be more secure and not block the vents.I chose this model since it appeared to be solidly built (one reviewer said it was metal, but it’s just heavy duty plastic with a nice flat finish) and had a broad magnetic surface (and a great price).It came with several different colored steel plates (for the magnet to stick to) so you can match your phone, but I just slipped one in the Speck Products CandyShell Case for iPhone SE/5/5S -Retail Packaging- Black/Slate Grey and it works great.The phone has never fallen off the mount even on rough roads and some gnarly potholes.Pros:-Well built-Secure-Uses 6 magnets rather than 4 as some models do for a secure hold-Great priceCons:-Tightening screw seems longer than it needs to be (partially obscures radio display/clock)-Used with:iPhone SE in Speck Candyshell caseSpeck Products CandyShell Case for iPhone SE/5/5S -Retail Packaging- Black/Slate Grey

    SMALL, SLICK, AND EFFECTIVE!
    I’d already gotten tired of opening spring-loaded wings and lowering little shelves to mount my phone on a holder in my car. Then I saw these magnetic mounts and thought I’d give them a try. I’m glad I did. They are so much easier to use. It has a very small profile, and fits directly into my CD slot (which I don’t use otherwise). A thumbscrew tightens it snugly into the slot and once you adjust the angle you want your phone to be held, you’re ready to go.My phones, both a Galaxy A5 and a Pixel 8, are bigger than typical phones and are not strongly attracted to a magnet. However, the mount comes with a self-adhesive metal plate that can be stuck on the back of the phone to enhance the attraction. I typically put silicone cases on my phones (I drop them a lot), so I stuck the plate inside the case instead of on the phone itself (see pic). This works very well and I have never had a phone slip from the holder even with a charging cord attached.Highly recommend!

    perfect for honda civic without touchscreen
    This fit perfectly in the CD slot of my 2010 Honda Civic and when my phone is attached it does not get in the way of the car buttons. The CD still works and the Radio works fine too when this is attached. I use it for hands free maps & navigation because my older car does not have a touchscreen. I installed the thin magnet behind my phone case and it sticks and functions better than I thought, highly recommended.

    Easy installation!
    Have been looking for an eye level phone holder that works with magnetic component existing in iPhone but one that can handle weight of a large iPhone. I didn’t want one that had to be suctioned to dash or windshield. This fit into a neglected part of cars, the CD drive! Easy to flip over if the attachment blocks buttons or a screen. They include 3 different size magnets you can stick to the back of your phone for added grip. I chose to place it in between my phone and case rather than stick it directly to the phone. Works great!

    Bought this to replace my old phone holder which broke. This one is much more solid. Fits securely in cd slot. Powerful magnet holds phone in place with no shaking or vibration. Easily adjustable angle for viewing GPS map. I’m very pleased.

    Very good……but
    This cd mount is the very thing I’m looking for, and I don’t need to block my vent now. The magnet is very strong. Inserts into the CD player easily. It holds my wireless 9 inch carpuride screen without difficulty. But, after a few weeks, the holder fell out of my CD player. I noticed the adhesive used on the 3 little pads was not holding them in place, and they were sliding off. NO FRET…….I just put a few dabs of krazy glue on each one. Held them firmly in place for a couple of minutes and let it set out for an hour before putting it back in. I wanted to be sure the glue was dry before reinserting the mount in my cd slot. I had no plans of krazy gluing the mount to my cd slot. Now, no more falling out.Also, I do like the wing nut used to adjust tightness. It is easily accessed. However, I found that I do occasionally give it an extra twist every few weeks just to secure tightness. But, I don’t really notice any movement…….even when going over bumps. Don’t over tighten it though, also, I inserted mines with the wing nut on the top or north end of the holder.They also send extra pads in case you have extra movement or play when you tighten it (aka your cd slot opening is a bit wider). As I stated earlier, I would suggest using some firm pressure to slide the pads off of the mount, , and putting some super glue or krazy glue on them. If you use the extra pads, I would suggest probably putting a few dabs of krazy glue on them too.They also send 3 magnets with the mount. So, I can mount my car screen, or my cell phone, or my wife can mount her cell phone to it.So, if you have an older car like me, and your CD player is bored and begging you for something to do, you are tired of your spouse complaining because your tablet or cell phone blocks the middle vent on their side, get this mount. You won’t regret it. I know I don’t.

    Great mount, purchased for ipad mini 2, holds well & magnets are nice & strong. Wish there was a little adjustability on the hight, but this fixed state makes it more stable so can’t complain (still has adjustability with the ball for angle)
