Excellent, once you dial in some settings
I bought this as a business laptop (which is exactly what it is), and it delivers in spades. The chassis may be plastic, but the soft-touch and nearly silent, back-lit keyboard gives this piece a nice premium feel. The screen is plenty bright and very vibrant, with bright, sharp colors, and the 16″ screen is a noticeable upgrade from the basic 15.6″, without feeling overly huge, like a 17″ does to me. The trackpad is decent, but not my thing, so I use a mouse. The 13th Gen i7 moves everything along snappily and with no frustrating “oh, this thing is slow” regrets. It’s far from slow, and accommodates a good bit of multi-tasking while still feeling crisp and unburdened, even with only 16GB of DDR5. It also is great for streaming video, and I’ve done it easily while working in 2 or 3 other open apps with no lag, no sweat. The only thing is that it should be obvious this is not a gaming laptop. So, without a discrete GPU, why does Dell think this can handle a 2.5K resolution at 120Hz (which was the default)? It can, as far as surfing the web maybe, but try anything that even remotely calls for GPU power and it’s chop-chop city. Even the see-sawing text screen saver struggled at this setting. So, a bit of advice, drop your refresh rate down to 60Hz and you’ll be good to go.TLDR; it’s a business laptop, not a gaming rig…it’s a web-surfing, spreadsheet, business software solution kind of piece…it’s for video streaming, not graphical editing or creating…Buy it for what it is and it’s a 5/5 in my book.

A no fuss really good laptop.
If you don’t mind a no OLED screen and mediocre webcam, this is a stupendous laptop. Plenty of power, a truly marvelous keyboard and great sounding speakers. Trackpad is small…as it should be, no need for a huge One. The screen is very fast and colorful. I have tested this laptop with Windows 11 and Linux, and everything works as it should. Even the fingerprint reader works amazing in both distros I tried: Mint and Fedora. You would have to pry this thing from my cold, dead hands!

Excellent laptop, except …….
The device offers fast performance and an excellent screen, among other features. However, I find the positioning of the female Type-C power port to be inconvenient. It’s located near the lower-left corner, which is quite close to the user. In my opinion, it would be better placed in the upper-left corner, farther from the user. I understand that due to the way the screen opens, placing it at the back isn’t an option.
The cups on this bra run very small. –

BIG BLACK FRIDAY DEAL ,,,, JUNK
Arrived in packaging that was in normal shape from shipping. Tried to start the laptop and perform the initial setup.Screen never came up, just blank. Dell support had me go through a series of attempts to get it to work properly, however finally, when they asked me to open the case I declined as it was brand new and should have worked properly out of the box?? Wound up returning it to Amazon at my cost and looks like I will wait a month to get any kind of refund. So much for my big “Amazon Black Friday Deal” Oh by the way I still need to buy a laptop. Probably not a Dell through Amazon.

I got this Dell laptop to replace a crashed 5-year-old Lenovo. As soon as my IT person re-installed my software and content from a backup, I was ready to go. The computer is fast and works flawlessly, and I much prefer the keyboard layout to my old laptop.I’ve had no problems whatsoever thus far, and I have already hauled it across continents to another country for a business/pleasure vacation. I am looking forward to, hopefully, a long and quality laptop life!

Bonne machine.

This laptop RAM can’t be upgraded. The SSD could be upgraded to 2 terabytes though there is no documentation about what limitations there are, if any. The WIFI could also be upgraded. A truly clean install of the laptop requires Intel Rapid Storage, and WIFI Drivers, which are very hard to find on the Dell web site. Windows installer won’t see your SSD without the drivers. I used Rufus to make a Windows install thumb drive from an ISO, and it allows you to remove annoying windows features such as being forced to login to Microsoft after install. I dislike all DELL software, though I must admit they may be crucial to get all drivers installed. However, after I got the drivers in I uninstalled the software. Cloning software also require SSD drivers, such as Acronis. Beware that DELL support tries to get you to buy their support, which is unnecessary, if only they actually helped you! Expect to spend hours to get the support you need, and many transfers of your call to people in India. I think everyone should buy ASUS laptops because their drivers can be found easily. Dell is obsessed with their support numbers found on their computers. ASUS laptops are expensive but you get what you pay for.
