This is a decent basic AC/DC adapter/power supply that appears well built for the most part and works as expected without issues. It’s rated for 10W (5V/2A) so it will work with any devices capable of supporting 5V as long as the current draw is no more than 2A (or realistically around 1.6A to be safe). 8 tips of various sizes and types are also included but it doesn’t come with a polarity reverse cable/converter which is a bit of a bummer. The main DC barrel connector is 5.5×2.1/2.5mm.â Note that this ONLY works for devices requiring specific voltages supported by this adapter and it WILL permanent damage any devices that do NOT support at least the voltage selected. For instance, if your device requires 3V and it’s connected to this adapter, it WILL likely kill the device, permanently. On the other hand, if your devices require 6V or 9V, this adapter will probably not work although many devices are capable of running slightly lower voltages than required but HIGHER voltages are always risky unless you know exactly what the tolerances are.â¡ Physical buildThe physical build quality seems decent although it’s of the same plastic construction typical found with most other AC/DC adapters of similar styles. The same can be said for all the tips included; typical quality and they can certainly be better although, again, they do work just fine. With that being said, the adapter itself does NOT have any safety certifications and that’s rather disappointing to see.â¡ Safety note (from official gov sites)â Electrical products that plug into an electrical outlet must meet Canadian national safety standards and be certified by an accredited certification body.â Always check for certification marks, such as CSA, cUL, or cETL, before purchasing electrical products that plug into an electrical outlet. These marks indicate that the products are assessed and conform to the required Canadian national safety standard.â Do not buy or use electrical products that plug into an electrical outlet without a certification mark.While some people would argue that these safety certifications means little or even nothing because there are products out there with safety cert that fail to perform while others without it have performed better in comparison. I’d say that’s fallaciously misguided simply because exceptions are never to be used as supportive arguments to statements that are inherently untrue.Do you stop using seatbelts because someone died of accidents while wearing one? Is driver’s license unnecessary because more accidents are caused by those with valid licenses than not? There are countless examples I could think of but most importantly is the undisputed fact that it is the Canadian law and it’s there to minimize harm and not necessarily eliminate it. If the idea of certifications (safety or otherwise) are truly useless, then our civilization would crumble. In either case, I’d choose and support products with any of the 3 certs mentioned above any day over products that have none. The choice is of course yours, as always.â¡ ValueAll things considered, this is a decent basic AC/DC adapter/power supply that works just fine and as expected without issues (so far). This can be used to power a variety of devices including LED light strips, certain network gears (SOHO switches, routers etc), security cameras, some video/audio devices etc as long as those devices require 5V with less than 1.6A as the load (i.e. 80% of rating amperage). It’s somewhat reasonably priced at $16 for what it provides and its overall build quality as well as its performance (so far).

For me, there is nothing more frustrating than digging through the drawer of random cords and chargers trying to find the specific one I need.This power adapter helps with that problem! It works well and comes with 8 different tips for a variety of devices. I tested it out with two different devices that use different tips and it powered up both perfectly.Great price. Easy to use. I have a Voice-over-IP box that I use at home to provide a cheap phone service there. Unfortunately, I have had to replace the power supply for that VOIP box twice! It requires a 5V 2A rated power supply, along with a small plug adapter. This power supply adapter fulfills my needs as a replacement power supply for my VIP box. One of the 8 supplied adapter plugs works perfectly. Fingers crossed that this power supply works longer than the original. The nice thing about this replacement power supply is that the different adapters permit its use with a variety of power supplies for other 5V devices.

I have a cordless phone base that was missing a charger as it went kaput!I ordered this thinking it may have a tip size that works with the phone base and sure enough it did. Volts and amps requirements were close to this so took a chance and Iâm happy I did. If a day comes that I donât need the phone base anymore Iâll know I can use it with other items as it arrived with many different cord tips including usb-c. Happy with the product.
