Premium sound quality
This is bang for your bucks if you want to invest in a good pair of earbuds. Pairing with my Android phone was a breeze. The sound quality out of the box is crisp, clear and detailed. There is plenty of maneuvering available on the Advanced EQ in the app. The ear buds snuck in easily and you hardly notice it’s there. No issues with noise cancelling but I would add that making calls on the earbuds, voice feels sub par quality. The bottom line is buy this if you are looking for a premium sound experience on ear buds.

Earbuds That Redefine Audio Bliss
Audiophile’s Dream Come True. The sleek case and premium feel set the stage for an extraordinary listening experience. Once I nestled them into my ears, they vanished – lightweight and secure even during intense workouts. But it’s the sound that truly blew me away. These earbuds deliver an audiophile-grade performance, with a balanced sound signature that’s both detailed and engaging. The bass is tight and punchy, the mids are crystal clear, and the treble sparkles without a hint of harshness. It’s like having a front-row seat at a concert, every instrument and vocal perfectly placed in a wide, immersive soundstage.Active noise cancellation is exceptional, silencing the world around me with just a gentle hush. Transparency mode seamlessly blends in ambient sounds, ideal for staying aware on busy streets. The microphone delivers clear calls, even in noisy environments. Battery life is impressive, lasting throughout my long workdays, and the case provides multiple recharges on the go.Conclusion:The B&W Pi8 earbuds are a masterpiece of audio engineering. They offer a sublime listening experience, premium comfort, and impressive features. If you’re a music lover seeking the ultimate sound, these earbuds are a dream come true.Pros: * Exquisitely detailed and balanced sound * Superb active noise cancellation * Comfortable and secure fit * Excellent battery life * Premium build qualityCons: * PriceyTarget Audience:Audiophiles, music enthusiasts, anyone who demands the best sound quality

Clean sound, acceptable ANC, EXTREME COMFORT, AptX can be leveraged for PC with additional purchase
This will be a brief review.Pros:- The sound stage is crisp, clean, and can deliver punch if necessary. It was necessary for me to play with the EQ for an hour or two to be happy with the overall sound, but I suspect this driver is capable of pleasing nearly anyone with the proper EQ settings. The default setting is low on bass and high on treble.- This is now the gold standard of comfort for me. These are lightweight and are designed well enough to not cause fatigue in the canals or around the ear. I have worn these for over 5 hours without any soreness.- AptX adaptive*** While this does have AptX adaptive, you have no way to force the codecs used. The only reason at all that I am interested in this codec is to get a latency low enough to not have lip sync issues on a PC (what is available, for all intensive purposes, is AptX Low Latency). I was hoping the use of the case would allow me some flexibility, however this is not the case. The use of the case as the transmitter is an disappointing experience not in line with the cost, with latency being worse than what I perceive from an SBC codec utilizing a standard adapter. I was able to pair these headphones with the Creative BT-W5 USB adapter. The Creative adapter itself permits you to chose the AptX low latency codec specifically, which provides for a good experience with low latency on the PC. Then, if you do not require the latency restriction, you can use the selfsame adapter to change to codec with greater quality and less emphasis on the latency.Cons:- AptX Adaptive use is limited in that you cannot use the software to control your codecs (see above)- Noise cancelling is good, but does not match the most recent Sony WF earbuds.- Charging case transmitter is a good idea which is oversold and does not deliver. The case-as-transmitter experience is not useful if your require latency control (i.e., no watching movies or playing games with this setup, unless you are not bothered by a full 2 second delay).- Software use for the ANC is very much behind the standards of Bose and Sony from years past, much less their current standards. ANC is either on, off, or on pass through. There is no customization, and no equilibration. For a product aiming to compete with the top models in this category, I suspect that a great many consumers will find this lack unacceptable. For me, what makes it worth the premium price of $400 is the ability to use AptX Adaptive on a premium, sound-canceling earbud, but I am also frustrated by the fact that you cannot choose your AptX codec preference. If the software issue could be addressed and more control given and information given over with respect to codecs being used and being preferentially used, this would be a 5/5 device.

Let me preface this review by stating that I am an earbud freak and presently own the B&O Beoplay EX’s, Technics AZ80’s, Denon Perl Pro’s, Sennheiser MTW3’s and the Master & Dynamics MW08’s and now the Bowers & Wilkins Pi8’s.If your priorities are ANC, transparency, call quality or battery life, these are just average in all those categories, but if sound quality is your main goal, these are by far the best earbuds I have ever heard and it’s not even a close contest. They are the first earbuds that I didn’t need to bother with the EQ in the app as they blew me away right out of the box. The tightest and most natural bass, highs that sparkle, great soundstage and separation but with detail that I have never experienced other than with high end over the ear headphones. They are expensive and not very competitive feature wise, but the sound is in a totally different league than any Bluetooth earbuds in the market today at any price in my opinion. Build quality and comfort are also top of class in typical B&W fashion. The ability to use the case to transmit from a non-bluetooth source is an interesting perk, but mostly for airplane travel I guess

If a great sound experience is your goal, this is an amazing set of earbuds. They’re worth the price of admission.

The clarity of these tiny buds is astounding. App is a bit fiddly (software update took 4 tries) but after an hour I see what the fuss is about. Add a bit of bass and a tad of treble in the EQ and you’ll see what I mean. Also: Super comfortable, the first earbud I could see leaving in my ears until the charge runs out. Top shelf gear. Don’t hesitate to buy.

I came from the bowers and Wilkins PI7 and PI7S2.Had reservations about the PI8 but after a week of listening and adjusting the EQ I can say the sound is without a doubt a big step up. Sound stage is bigger and clarity is top notch even coming from the PI7S2.My one complaint is that the noise cancellation is not great. It seems the seal is not quite as good as the PI7. But as usual BW goes all in on the sound quality. Still, worthwhile purchase!

The sound could be quite impressive with very good recordings, but any pop or rock was almost unlistenable due to very forward highs of the earbuds. Running them in Aptx HD and playing downloaded 25/96 files from my Sony Xz3, the connection was stable at home, but out walking there was frequent distortion and signal loss when walking under power lines or other interference. I also found the noise canceling to be very poor compared to my Sony wh-1000xm4’s. Many will find these to be great, but I ended up returning them. At this price, they need to be perfect.
