I bought this for a road trip in a 2022 Subaru Crosstrek and it was perfect. It fits the vertical vents perfectly and doesnât wiggle or make any noise. Very easy to install and hasnât shifted at all. Itâs a great deal considering other options are over $100. The magnetic force is strong and holds the phone securely.

Some concern about holding power
The holder was easy to install on the vent as was the ring on the back of my iPhone case. However on two occasions when I drove over a bump in the road the phone came off the holder and fell to the floor.

It was a little tricky at first trying to get the latch to fit the vent, but a quick check of the information brochure helped to show what needed to be done. The magnetic suction is incredibly strong. I am pleased with this purchase.

Nice Strong Magnet – Terrible vent clip
Tried to install this in a Toyota. But the way that vent clip is bent at the end you would need razor thin vents in order for it to actually grab hold. I tried for about 45 minutes and then took the thing into the garage to bend the end more open. I finally got it to stay, but not good enough. It has fallen out easily at least 5 times in less than a week. There is NOT ENOUGH width on the curved tip to actually grab the vent fin and stay in place. It is almost useless because if I adjust my phone and it falls off while driving, I am totally stuck just sticking my phone in the cup holder for the rest of the trip. I DO NOT RECOMMEND (unless you horizontal vent fins are razor thin but still strong enough).When I get home from my trip, I am going to bend the crap out of the metal clip to get it to work possible, otherwise it is trashed.********Update – bending a more usable clip end, it is still is terrible. The threads to tighten the clip actually slip and it still falls off. I’ll keep the magnet end plate and ball joint, but the rest is going in the trash.
