Apevia SFX-AP400W power supply is an excellent choice for compact, small form factor systems. With 400W of steady output power, lots of cable connectors and a built-in 80mm automatically thermal sensing fan it is sufficient and quiet to run a new built system or to replace a lagging/bad power supply in an older small form factor system with a wide range of peripherals and versatile applications. For safety, do not overload, abuse or modify the power supply unit. Use of this unit for Bitcoin Mining is not suggested since it will shorten the life and cause failures of power supply. Use for mining purposes is not covered by warranty.

Great price, great support.
I purchased this for a low/mid range system going in a SFF case and needed a cheap SFX supply. The first one I ordered had horrible coil whine when powered off (5V standby), so it was extremely noticeable. Decided to reach out to support (Amazon was sold out so couldn’t replace). They were extremely responsive and after I sent them some info (serial and copy of invoice), quickly dispatched a new one. Got it 4 days later and it’s works great powering my i7 4790k and GTX1070 mini without issue. Fan is a bit louder than I’d like, but that’s to be expected for a supply that only goes for $30. It’s not horrible. All in all, I was a little disappointed at first with the quality, but their support seems top notch and ultimately got what I needed and quite happy with purchase.

Working great!
So far it is working great. It is much quieter than my last power supply but not as quiet as I had hoped but still so much better.Update 9/10/2019 – The power supply is still working but now the fan is going out. It is making some very bad noises. Just a few months past warranty so I will probably have to replace the fan myself. I guess you get what you pay for. At least it is still working and as for problems, it is a fairly easy fix. Not going to knock a star off since it did last over a year and is technically still working as is, I just don’t trust the fan anymore.

Terrible coil whine
This product came just as advertised, having a 6 pin connector for a GPU and 8 pins for my CPU power. However, right when I plugged it into my wall outlet and flipped the switch on it, I got the worst coil whine. This is before I even pressed the power button on the computer, so it was under no load. Once it is under load, however, it works fine and the whine goes away. If I put my computer to sleep or shut it off, it starts back up again. Not acceptable considering my computer is in my bedroom and I can’t even hear myself think when it’s shrieking the way it does.

Good for the mini itx enclosure
I bought this to replace a mini itx case power supply. this fits perfectly. Make sure and measure before you order because they come in all sizes as I found out the hard way. This replaced my old rosewill sfx power supply. I had one snag installing it. I did not look carefully at the motherboard before I ordered. Mine is old and needed a 4 pin to cpu plug. This power supply does not have a 4 pin plug, I tried to adapt the 8 pin to it but no good. You need this (StarTech.com 6in LP4 to P4 Auxiliary Power Cable Adapter – LP4 to 4 pin ATX – Molex to P4 Adapter – LP4 to P4 (LP4P4ADAP) if you have the same problem. 5 bucks. It absolutely will not post without it. I thought it was a bad power supply before I tried this work around. Works well with it. Also the power cord needs to be seated super deep otherwise it would not power up as well. It is pretty quiet and runs nicely otherwise. We shall see how long it lasts.

Works well
I was worried about buying this because of posted complaints, but this one works well in a mini itx system with a Gtx 1050 graphics card. The fan is a little noisy…

Replacement that is quiet and runs smooth however,… UPDATE 9/1/2020
Bought this as an Emergency Replacement. It runs smooth, a very slight hum but that’s normal and I’ve great hearing. Now the bad, the cable bundle coming out isn’t as flexible and is rather rigid. It can’t be bent downwards to miss hitting the back of a 5.25″ drive. I would’ve enjoyed giving this a 5 Star but after putting everything back, my DVD RW Drive stopped working then saw the Power light on it wasn’t on. So I know it knocked it’s SATA Power Cable off as I did that then put it back thinking it would hold. It didn’t. But still, for under $30, ths is still a good deal!UPDATE: Lsst night, September 1st, a capacitor blew out, some smoke and a flash as I was powering down. It was strong enough to disconnect one connector! Hoping my system didn’t fry but again, hopeful…

Noisy But Effective
I purchased this because the Power Supply in my old computer died and it was nearly impossible to find one the same size to fit the case. This had the form factor and connectors I needed. It is the Only One I found that came close, and the price was great. It installed easily and there was only 1 older DVD Player I could not connect because there was no correct size plug. Like several reviewers said, this thing is far from quiet. It works great, but you definitely hear it. That’s why the 3 stars rather than 5. Like I said, this was my only option.

A for Apevia: Very Good Power Supply 4 Computer Repair, Small Form Factor Desktop
Spent 3 weeks looking for a small form factor power supply unit replacement for an old desktop repair. Old HP Pavillion computer uses a microATX form factor. Depth into the computer chamber has to be less than 4″ to fit the cabling to the internal motherboard and hardware. Very, very difficult to locate a microATX for factor. I wanted a price in the $20–25 price range. The Apevia came in high wattage. It has a power switch for on/off, and this is important. It was priced at $30. The quality is good. It looks very nice–comes in all black profile with black covered cables, so sleek and modern. Small size so fits where there is space limits. You will need to buy a adapter plate SFX to ATX. The computer is running, surfing the internet, typing in the review. If I had a similar repair to do, I would buy it again. With a discount code, this is a dope buy. 1 4 4

I used the APEVIA SFX-AP400W power supply to upgrade my Dell OptiPlex 5050, which is an office PC. It fits perfectly in the small form factor case and provides enough power for the system’s needs. The installation was straightforward, and the unit is compact yet feels solid. It runs quietly, which is a big plus since this PC is mainly used for work purposes. Despite being an affordable power supply, it has been reliable, and I havenât experienced any issues with stability or overheating.Overall, if you’re looking for a budget-friendly, efficient power supply for a compact PC like the Dell OptiPlex 5050, this one does the job well!

Nice under no gpu load but it burn out during load test for total load 200W (i7 6th gen + itx 1050ti)Rated power is not real.

My power supply busted after 17 years, I had kept power supply, case and a few components when I rebuilt this computer a few years ago. I was happy to find an affordable replacement given this computer is used as a server and occasional use only. This new power supply fit perfectly and was easy to install to replace my busted SFX power supply – I am not overly experienced/knowledgeable but not a novice either. My motherboard had only a P4 12v connection but enough room for the P8 from the power supply to connect (leaving 4 pins unconnected in the air) – I’m happy the pin configuration is compatible. It’s low noise, although I don’t think my set up draws a lot of power to be honest.
