Significant improvement to sleep quality ð´
1 year product review. The NEAT AquaPad has worked great, improved deep sleep, and is the product I didnât know I needed.Pros:+ As an active cooling device (water evaporation), it will get sufficiently cool during hot nights.+ Much cheaper than running the house AC, the NEAT AquaPad has paid for itself in a few months+ It is quiet, with minimal light output and is easy to sleep while itâs runningCons:- Water filling is a bit slow and tedious, and as others mention, I have found it needs to be refilled daily (during the summer months in CA). Be sure you are using distilled water. Still worth the minor inconvenience- Takes some trial and error to get the thermal regulation right, I have found adding sheets/blanket on top to be the best.Although I was initially hesitant, Iâm glad to have purchased this product.

Unit leaked and ultimately broke
The idea is fine. A mattress pad with built-in channels to pump cold-ish water through, for a cool bed experience.Initially, worked fine, pleasant experience even if the cooling is evaporative swamp cooling, so you have to top up water every so often (really every day or so), and the water is not super cold. It is however, cold enough that it can remove a lot of heat from your body.My problem was that after 2 days or so, the built-in pump seems to have died – the swamp cooler fan is working but the red light blinks and the pump stopped. This is also when the unit overflowed as all the water in the topper flowed back into the holding tank.Unfortunately, after retarting, the pump now shuts off after 2-3 minutes, reliably. It’s a shame, the idea is not bad, and while it worked, it was pleasant.

Works, but uses a lot of water
I am a very hot sleeper, and live in a very hot climate. So, I normally have the a/c set at 82 and have a high power fan blowing on me. But I still wake up after about three hours drenched in sweat. So, I’ve been looking for an active solution. There are a couple of expensive options, but I cannot afford to spend that kind of money. I decided to take a chance on this.I learned a couple of things. The unit is easy to install and powered by a USB-C connection. I filled it up, and was very happy on the first night. I was actually cold, no sweats, no tossing and turning. Awesome. Here’s the negative. The second night I got a low water shortage stoppage in the middle of the night, despite having added water that day, and had another shortage that afternoon taking a nap. What I found is that I needed to run it about two or three minutes to fill up the sheet in order to refill the water. And it SUCKS UP water, I’d say it uses about 24 to 32oz a day. That’s a lot of distilled water. I ended up buying a distiller, although not just for this as I use distilled water for a couple of other things, too. Also, it is a very slow process to add water, and takes a steady hand else you have a mess. That is an easy to fix design flaw IMO.The other issue is the non-smart-ness of the unit. I found that while it kept me cool for the first part of my sleep, it hinders me waking up (meaning I wake up sore from the cold) unless I turn it off after four or five hours. That’s a feature the $2,000 dollar options have–you body has different sleeping temperatures depending on your sleep cycle. All in all, though, for the money I paid, I think it is a very good product. I can adapt to the flaws, and it beats the constant night sweats! The only worry I have now is how long it will hold up to daily use. Time will tell.

Continued Use/Customer Support
This product has become a near-necessity in my life. I sleep hot very frequently, and I have found I sleep much better with it running. It gets very cool very fast, and stays cool all night long as long as it has been filled. I havenât had any issues with leakage over my time of using it, it has a noise while running, but after about a week or so, itâs like a white noise machine and doesnât bother me anymore, and the main bits of the machine are very durable. The one bit of advice I have is to use the recommended water in the instructions. If you donât, slimy residue will build up over time, and lessen the cooling affect over time. Itâs not the end of the world though, as I have cleaned it out by running some 1/1 vinegar water ratio through the lines, letting it sit for an hour, and then dumping it with the attached water release stub thing on the bottom.I did have to use customer support and it was fast. Like freaky fast. As in I talked to someone and within 10 minutes (this was over their text support line, https://neataquapad.com/contact-us/), I got a new main unit sent to my house. The main unit had to be replaced because of a faulty USB C port being worn over time, not because of a fan, pump, or other issues you might think it would be.Overall, I would buy this again in a heart beat. The deal is better than most other products Iâve seen, the cooling affect is really good, itâs reliable, and while filling this machine every 1 to 2 days is a bit annoying, it doesnât take too much water (1-2 water bottles) to get it back to full. It takes like 3-4 water bottles from complete empty to fill it up.Anyways, thanks for reading my Ted talk about this product, have a good day.

The unit is powered by 5v 2amp USB A, so any old Samsung phone charger will do the trick. It has 3 fans speeds and uses evaporative cooling to cool the water, the mat has no securing straps so consider also getting a thin bed topper to put over it.
