great if the price is right (must update bios)
bought this cpu on a sale for 280 usd as a drop in replacement for a 12600k on a z690 board. Using the latest bios with the microcode fixes everything seems to be stable. Needs a lot of cooling to unlock all its potential, with a 240 aio im leaving perfomance on the table because of cooling. I strongly reccomend a lga 1700 contact frame for better temps.all in all I recommend this cpu for existing lga 1700 owners if the price is right (300 usd or lower) if you are building a new system for gaming maybe am5 is a better choice.

A great update after i5-11400
I really felt the difference in performance. One thing it needs a microcode update from Intel – check with your Motherboard/BIOS manufacturer

Better than AMD
I’m a developer and use the CPU primarily for performance. You may have seen people complaining on degradation issues with the CPU but I can say that mine has no such issue. Intel says to make sure the bios is up to date (which you should do anyways) and I made sure to have the updated bios on the initial load of the PC. Now I have a clue that run 35% better in almost all the benchmarks as an equivalent AMD chip for under $300. Very glad this was discounted. The current price is still a steal for performance. If you don’t know how to update a bios, don’t build a computer

Something’s not right with this processor
I own three , Intel 14700kf’s and this processor runs slower then an intel13700kf and just above an Intel 12600k.I would not buy this product unless you want to take a chance like I did most likely I’m going to send this back because it’s not right something’s wrong with it I’m not sure if it’s a company that sell defective stuff as new but that’s what it seems like right now.I’ll repost once it’s figured out but right now I would not buy any processors from this company it was shady when I first ordered it and it didn’t show up it was supposed to be on a overnight order didn’t show up for 3 days box look tampered with there was no sticker or paperwork with it so I am very skeptical about this product and you should be too.Thank youChuck Taylor

What do you expect it’s an i7
I have been building PCS since 1991. Unless you Bend the pins on the main board you won’t be disappointed. It’s loaded with cache and cores, it over clocks, it’s an i7. Of course you’re going to be happy. I could have bought the i9 but I like money. Buying the i7 keeps you from having buyers remorse when you realize that you really won’t notice the difference. Make sure you have upgraded your bios to a version that is 4th quarter 2024 or newer immediately after installing the processor to avoid over heating issues.

A fast processor for it’s price
Always gone intel and i9 for stability and this thing is a beast for rendering and gaming

Solid processer after power & performance adjustments
This is a well-rounded CPU for those looking for a balance between strong single & multi-threaded performance at a relatively affordable price point. If you’re looking for an install-it-and-forget type of CPU, this isn’t it. You should update your motherboard BIOS with the latest CPU microcode to protect the processor from potentially being exposed to high voltage-related degradation. Intel extended the product warranty for these affected boxed processors to five years. With some voltage & load line tunings, this CPU ends up being a fairly energy-efficient processor at the 125W long-duration Turbo limit. Users who want more performance could set higher PL1 limits (up to 253W for Intel performance specs).
