The OEMTOOLS Universal Cooling System Filler purges those problematic airlocks, checks for vacuum leaks, and then allows the technician to refill the system quickly and easily. As you probably know, air bubbles in your coolant system can cause numerous serious issues, including overheating and engine damage. USE IS SIMPLE: 1. Before beginning, the radiator must be completely drained of fluid. And the car should be engaged and the heater turned on, so that the heater coil is open and can be evacuated and refilled. 2. You need to find the right sized rubber bush for your radiator neck or coolant reservoir, and then fit the gauged cooling system adapter firmly into place. Turn the tightener on the valve clockwise until it snugly fits the radiator neck. 3. Connect venturi valve to the cooling system adapter, connect shop air to the venturi valve, and connect evacuator hose to the other side of the venture valve; make sure all valve openings are closed until the shop air is connected. 4. The hose on the other side of the venturi valve may evacuate fluid, if any is trapped in the system, so you may want to place that tube into a waste fluid pan. 5. Once the air line is attached, open the venturi valve, and the intermediate valve on the adapter assembly; Draw vacuum until the gauge reads between 50 and 60 cmHG) 6. Close the intermediate valve and venturi valve. If the vacuum drops, you have a leak in your system. If it does not, you’re ready to refill your coolant. 7. Remove the venturi valve (cooling system adapter valve should be turned off), and connect your coolant hose. Drop the other end into a large container of coolant, mixed to your preferred specifications. Open the coolant tube valve, and the coolant will flow. Use a large container so that you won’t run out and introduce air to the coolant system. 8. When the gauge reaches 0 or the coolant stops flowing, your radiator is full.

THIS THING IS AMAZINGLY AWESOME!! (plus read review for tips)
I found out about cooling system vacuum refiller kits while researching how to change the coolant in my car (which is notoriously difficult to change due to the tendency to get air bubbles and air locks upon a coolant change). Some people were reporting spending 8 to 10 hours doing ALL KINDS of crazy things to try and fix a hard to clear air bubble in my type of car. So, after a ton of research, I found out that these kits make changing your coolant literally a piece of cake and it only takes a couple minutes. This would be a huge advantage because I’m going to do a ‘home flush’ with distilled water, which means draining and refilling 3 or 4 times to dilute all the old coolant out (then refilling one last time with 100% strength new coolant).After researching, I found out that there is a leading brand of these vacuum coolant kits that costs approximately double what I paid for the OEMTOOLS 27066 kit. That brand gets great reviews, but I didn’t want to spend well over $100 for my coolant flush. So, I picked the tool that seemed like the next best quality, and I was NOT disappointed. This thing worked GREAT! It literally took 30 seconds to place the cooling system under vacuum, and another 1 minute to fill a gallon and a half of distilled water back into the system. And NO air lock afterwards.Here’s some things I learned:1) Pay attention to the reviews and closely look at the pictures of the kits you are considering. A number of cheap kits (not this one) look the same and get consistently bad reviews. The OEMTOOLS kit (and other branded differently but identical kits) get pretty good reviews. Also note that some of the kits do not have different expanding rubber bushings to exactly fit different sized radiator necks. They just have a tapered rubber ‘cone’ that you cram in there and hope it holds. I really prefer the custom fit of the OEMTOOLS style kits.2) When I first tried to use this kit, it did not work at all and would literally draw no vacuum despite running my air compressor for several minutes. I knew that my cooling system was solid. I knew that I had the tool well sealed in the radiator neck. Honestly, I thought I possibly had received a defective tool, or maybe my air compressor was not big enough to create the vacuum. I slept on it, and figured it out! My overflow hole is very low in the neck, and the tool was not able to seal that passageway. Simple fix was to remove the hose to the overflow tank and use a standard rubber vacuum hose cap to plug it. Once I did that, my small compressor created the required vacuum in literally less than 30 seconds.3) I have a very small pancake-style compressor. I think it is 2.7 CFM at 90 PSI. It had NO TROUBLE AT ALL pulling the required vacuum. I did not need a huge shop-size compressor.4) The other reviewer is right…the air compressor (male) fitting that comes on the kit is not the standard 1/4″ quick-disconnect. It looks like it is bigger…maybe 3/8″? It definitely did not work and I had to temporarily rob one from another tool. FYI, in case you want to purchase one in advance.Hope this helps….this was a great tool and made this job super easy.

Time saver! A bit expensive.
It may seem like a lot of money for a simple tool, but If you value your time then you should get this if you ever want to do coolant flush. It will be a pain without it. I was doing a radiator replacement and coolant flush and this makes it so much easier! I was able to dilute the old coolant down to 1/512 of the original concentration in a few days without much effort. Then I pulled in new 100% concentrate. Running great so far. Not that if you have a powerful shop vacuum, make sure the vacuum does not go pass the yellow zone! Take a minute and read the manual.

Very good kit
I use this kit to fill my Ford Edge 2007 and a Nissan Versa 2012, It work beautifully , No air on the system, verny set for a reasonable price, I highly recommend. I have a small pancake compressor , so you don’t need a big compressor to use this kit.

Great tool
Doesn’t disappoint. Simply place tool in radiator neck. Tighten the expanding seal nut. Supply shop compressed air. Open valve to pull cooling system to vacuum. Close valve. Leave under vacuum a few minutes to leak test system. Then attach supply feed tube to gauge assembly, place end in coolant supply and open valve. Coolant is sucked into vehicle system. No worries of air pockets or damaging head gaskets. Fills system in one shot.

Very nice, heavy, and well made for the price ($59.99 in my case). It fit snugly in my old Chevy truck’s radiator filler neck using one of the 3 adapters, which are more like neoprene than just plain rubber. Would be nice if the scale was in “inHg” instead of or “bar” and “cmHg”.

It worked but from all the other company’s that I have seen the gauge on this one is backwards. And the ait fitting doesn’t work for a air compressor. Although it comes with one on it . You have to spend a few more bucks to go to Home Depot and get a correct fitting for it .

As soon as I received this item, I did a coolant change on my son’s 2006 Hyundai Tiberon (2 litre). Other than changing the air fitting to work with my compressor (not an issue as I had one on hand), this was ready to go. After the coolant was drained, I attached it directly to the radiator and plugged the overflow tube. I didn’t even need to use any of the supplied adapters for it to fit into the radiator. It took less than 5 seconds to get enough vacuum. After verifying that there were no leaks in the system, I hooked up the line to be able to draw the coolant into the radiator. Then it was just a matter of opening the valve for the coolant to flow. Worked like a charm. I would buy this unit again.

Used first time on 2015 Jeep Cherokee with 3.2l V6 after replacing radiator. Worked flawlessly, took 15-20 minutes to change coolant. That includes waiting 10 minutes to see if vacuum decreases. Wouldn’t have wanted to fill rad any other way.Tool appears to be well made, as well ad the case. Would buy again
