which I should say was excellent – they were very prompt with their responses to …
I received the unit exactly as per specifications. I had some trouble setting it up with the monitor (not included; I had purchased it from elsewhere) and had to contact the seller, StallionTek, to get it resolved. That gave me an opportunity to experience their customer service, which I should say was excellent – they were very prompt with their responses to my emails, and courteous and helpful. They made me feel as if they genuinely wanted to get my problem solved as quickly as possible, and for me, as a customer, to have a great overall experience working with them. Commendable.I have been using the workstation for about a week now, and so far it’s been great in terms of performance – it boots up very fast, and apps load and run fast too. I have not run programs such as games that are heavily CPU or memory intensive as yet; given the high end specifications and the fact that the actual unit I have received matches the specifications in the product page, I do not expect that to be a problem.Note that a keyboard, mouse and monitor are not included. A wi fi card is not included; neither is a bluetooth interface. So if you need these you will have to buy them separately. Also, my unit had a few scratches here and there on the chassis – to be expected, I imagine, being a refurbished unit. The way I have placed it under my work desk, they are not noticeable anyway.I have made this purchase on trust – it’s not the same as buying a brand new unit straight from the manufacturer, after all – and so far, my impression is that they are a trustworthy company with whom to do business, and that the product is great value for money. If anything changes, I will update my review here, but so far, quite happy with my purchase.

a fraud
this is advertised by amazon as having been refurbished to “look and work like new”.a bad joke. the unit i got, a few months ago, was just an old PC that somebody grabbed off a salvage heap and shipped – other than the functional issues, like the fact that the graphics adapter didnt work, it was obvious to anyone other than an idiot that this machine had not been “refurbished” at all – it was filthy, inside and out, and i was the first person to have opened that case in many years (dust a quarter inch thick does not lie).regardless, i cleaned it myself, and then bought my own graphics adapter, and used the machine for a few months. until yesterday, when the main (solid state) (supposedly new) hard drive crashed.stay away from these guys.to update, i also bought the Amazon extended warranty thru Asurion – another ripoff. they have now had this machine for “repair” for 6 weeks , and no longer even return calls or emails. this is just an open fraud on the part of Amazon, and their “partners” – i could build any PC on the planet from base components in 6 weeks, and i’m not even supposed to be an expert. save your money and go to Best Buy or Costco – they actually honor their warranties.

Good value. Easy access for component upgrades or additions
Other than it being a good value, my favorite thing about the HPZ800 is that it’s like an old car that you can work on yourself. I stripped out the memory and SSD drive from previous units and added them to this unit. The build quality is also good. This comes at the expense of weight. At 50 pounds It’s heavy. I made a friend for life by carrying the package from the UPS truck to the house. It’s not for everybody. But if you’re okay with previously owned and want to save some money, it might be worth a look.

Good machine, bad graphics
Everything that was needed and described, it came with. Large hard drives, massive Ram count, and an NVIDIA graphics card. Beast of a machine. Graphics card was severely outdated though. Could have used a better one. Had to upgrade it myself.

Item functional, quick arrival, could’ve had better shipping care, and thanks for making available.
Quick arrival. Fans are louder than they should be. Video card was flopping around on arrival. Fan speed is high and loud. Does function.

Great computer
So this computer is probably overkill for me, but what can I say- I just want my computers to be fast. I only use it for office applications, but have noticed faster program load speeds and install speeds of different softwares. I don’t use any auto CAD programs or something with similar draw, so can’t really vouch for performance much beyond that. However, after a month- so far so good and I would feel comfortable at this point recommending this computer to others who like the idea of bigger and faster. I’ve only tested it out with 2 monitors to date, but it had 2 video cards and quite a few more ports, so I’m assuming it could handle more if I had another monitor.Update- Okay, I’ve now owned this computer for about 8 months and I still absolutely love it. I have another fast computer at home and this one still kicks it’s trash. I also have 3 monitors hooked up to it with different display sizes 2- 27″ and 1 35″- wide screen (same height as a 27″ just wider) and everything comes through without distortion. Very happy with this computer and would recommend it to others still.

Waste of money
Initially, I gave this vendor high praise for quick responses to my questions and even after delayed delivery, I was happy to give the computer a try. Now about six months into using this computer, I can testify that it is junk and DO NOT buy if you need a reliable computer. It started with the computer slowing down to a crawl after installation of few applications and downloading a couple of big datasets. Then it started overheating, and the fan running overtime. Now, it is painfully slow, the fan is annoyingly on every minute(even after trying to clean possible dust clogging), I have done everything I would think to fix the issue but they persist. I called and left a message with the vendor back in January and never heard back. I wrote again, through Amazon in January about the issues, they wrote back that they will get someone to help me. More than three months later, I am still waiting. Bottom line, for the amount of money, you can get a decent computer that is reliable and durable, not this junk.
