Very sturdy and strong magnet!
I like this a lot more than I thought. It feels really nice too. I wish there was a white version!I can see why some people mention the joints. You really have to use some strength, but to me that is a good thing! It is very very sturdy. You will not send your stand swerving if you accidentally hit it or something. It also clamps really nicely and grips well on two of my tables I tested it on. All the swiveling functions work. The charging works and the cord works. I guess I wish it came with an AC adaptor, but thatâs no biggie really.This is my first magnetic stand. The magnet is strong which is what I was afraid of testing out. But it works fantastically.I am hoping the charging function keeps up so I will update if anything malfunctions happen. So far so good.

Hey, guess what? It stopped charging the iPad
Not sure if it’s a PCB issue or the pins they use on the smart connector are faulty/not aligned properly. I absolutely love this product as a stand. It’s well built and strong, as a stand. The charging aspect of it seems to be a hit or miss. I’ve had this for 3 months and about a month and a half in the connection became inconsistent, where it will keep flipping between connected and unconnected to charge. Sometimes not working at all. It’s disappointing because for the price you would expect everything to work properly. Currently still using but have the charging cable connected directly into iPad. Tried reaching out to the company directly for replacement PCB, but because the purchase was made here they forwarded an email to the dealer here… We’ll see where that goes.I can’t honestly recommend the X36 Pro Max which is what this is. I suggest the base X36 which is just the stand without the charging. As a stand the magnets are very strong (which is nice) and the arm is sturdy, but a little stiff initially. Save yourself the money or you’re a gambling person pay the extra and hope you don’t have the same problem in a couple months.

Charging Pins Stuck (UPDATED)
I reached out to the seller about warranty and they were able to take care of that almost immediately. I cannot stress enough on how excellent their customer service is. The fact that they were on top of it and sent my a replacement the very next day. I hope to continue using their products in the future.Overall, I love the product. It is relatively minimalistic, rigid, and heavy duty. Quality build with the exception of one of the 3 charging pins that are supposed to connect to your iPad becoming loose and in the down position, not making contact. I’ve tried everything to get it unstuck, but the internal spring does not keep it in place.Unfortunately, it failed around the 2 month mark of usage.

Stiff to move but good quality
it works for my purposes as a stand to use my iPad as a monitor. This stability is fantastic and does not wobble whatsoever and the clamp is fantastic. The magnets feel strong and I do not worry in the slightest that the iPad will fall. itâs great but the firmness of the joins makes adjusting a chore. Two hands are needed and it is difficult to make small adjustments, and The way the head has two firm joints instead of one fully rotational join is a real inconvenience it isn’t a deal breaker but definitely not what you want if you ire moving around a lot. however still good quality which makes up for it in the long run. just not completely worth the price.8/10

Good idea, poor implementation, and misleading marketing
I had this for exactly 4 days. The idea is great, but in the end all else was pretty bad in the end.1) The joints are way too stiff and is especially limited in the bottom joint where it will only move partially. This was very frustrating to position it how I wanted it. Itâs so difficult to move and manage and overall, the range of motion and position is more limited than you think. Donât believe the marketing on this.2) If you care about scratches on the back of your new iPad Pro, donât buy this. Itâs metal on metal.3) So it thinks youâre connecting a âChinese keyboardâ on the first use. LOL. I get technically why this is the case, but the user experience could be better. This is an issue to solve for sure. Itâs very weird.4) After 4 days it just stopped charging altogether. The weird semi-unintelligible support solutions said to âuse an eraserâ. LOL. Ok. Turns out one of the charging pins just depressed and that was it. Poor build quality on the technical side.5) Cable clips: Very sloppy solution to keeping the cable attached to the arm. For $140, I know there are multiple better options other than cheap adhesive plastic pieces. Just winding the cable around the arm loosely is better actually.So now Iâm just waiting for a competitor to do it better. I would suggest the same.

Truly Excellent iPad Stand
The one thing I always worry about with magnetic connections is how strong the hold is. Will my device stay in place? Well, this stand has an extremely strong magnetic connection and I have no concerns whatsoever about it falling off. The design is perfect. The arm has tight connections so itâs really sturdy and stays put in the position you place it. I was really impressed by how sturdy and well-constructed the mount is. It feels very high quality, and it charges really quickly as well. This is an excellent item for those with limited desk space especially. My desk doesnât have a ton of extra surface area, as I have three monitors. So I was able to put this on a second shelf I have on the side of my desk and itâs perfect! Itâs also great for those that like a nice, clean aesthetic. Itâs a very minimal and attractive design. I canât recommend this enough!

This is a great arm and stand to help you make the most of your user space. It is made of quality aluminum alloy material that looks sturdy and durable. The clamp fits easily and snuggly on a side of your desk. You don’t need any extra tools to place or remove the clamp. The arms are quite stiff; you have to exert quite the force to move the joints, but I won’t complain as the stiffness is for your iPad to remain safely in its place. The top platform is magnetic, so you just put your iPad on it, and it attaches safely and strongly. It also has iPad charging pins that lead to a separate USB-C port at the back. This means that whenever you place your iPad on this, the device’s charging pins will contact the charging pins on the top platform, and if the USB-C port at the back is connected to a power source, your iPad will be charging when placed on the magnetic platform. Note that, you can also connect the incoming USB-C cable with power to you iPa while it is on the stand too.The only thing I might complain is that the hinges of the arm do not seem to have plainly accessible screws. While the arm hinges are quite stiff and strong, a screw for tightening/loosening them could have been useful. The arm works great and the hinges hold strongly at the moment, but when a time comes when the hinges seem to loosen, some screws to tighten them might be useful.Overall, this is a great arm and stand for your iPad. It is strong and durable, and the hinges are quite, if not too, stiff. The price at $160 CAD (before a 10% coupon) seems to be high, although what you get in return is of very high quality. If you don’t mind the price, this is definitely a very good arm & stand.

First of all, you must make sure you have the correct stand for the correct iPad. I have an M2 iPad Pro and I initially bought their M4 iPad stand by mistake which thanks to Apple moving around the magnetic connections, the two are not compatible.I noticed that the M4 version of this stand is cheaper that the M2 version which is confusing to me as they are basically the same thing only with the magnets in slightly different places.The stand is very sturdy with stiff joints that you will have to grapple with slightly to get it into the perfect place for you, but once it is there, it will stay there. The magnetic connection is firm with no fear of my iPad Pro falling off.The supplied USB-C cable that comes with the stand was not quite up to the job of keeping my iPad charged. It regularly kept stopping charging or displaying the “Not Charging” sign. I replaced it with a higher specification USB-C cable and this resolved the issue.All in all, a good quality but rather over-priced stand.

This is a very impressive iPad stand, build with tough aluminum – or some other non-ferrous metal. (A magnet will not stick to the arms nor main back plate). The paint job is excellent, too. Flawless in all areas. Just beautiful.The unit has three sections arms, each with a twin-beam. At the end of each beam, there are short 1″ 3/4″ rounded couplers. It is at these points that the arms separate and can go in different directions.The the very top, or last coupler, rather than the same as before, this top unit has a different last connection as this goes into the large 6″ 3/4″ X 11″ 1/8″ back plate that holds your iPod. The plate is very flat and smooth, save for three small pins that sit proud of the surface, and a small 1″1/8″ X 1″ 1/8″ cut-out to assist in removing the iPad.It mounts easily to a desk, up to about 2″ 1/8″ thick. My current desk of 1″ 1/4″ has no problem at all with attachment. I have to agree with one reviewer and that is to forgo the clear plastic clips and use small Velcro strips instead. A better look, in my opinion.The only issue I have with this excellent unit, is how to tighten the connectors. Ok, right now, it is really hard to move those arms out! As it is to change position of the iPod backer plate. But they can – and probably will – over time, loosen up. Then what. There are no visible screws heads of any sorts to tighten up. I assume that under those sliver covers, I would find the screw heads, but that means destroying those covers and the beautiful looks of the the stand. In fact, right now, if I could, I would tighten up the side-to-side fastener as the movement of the iPad is a little too easy for me. If I orientate the iPad to Portrait mode, the problem is minimal, but if positioned to Landscape, pushing on the near edges of the iPad will cause the iPad to shift its position. It’s a shame I can’t correct this issue myself…Very impressive is the manual – not that there needs to be a lot of instructions on such a simple product – but I like the fact it is printed in six different languages. That is amazing to me! That means that this product has a huge potential to be seen and used by a huge population! I like that faith!Bottom Line – A truly great iPad stand! Solid, great looks and really frees up space on your desk. The power that is supplied is exactly what is needed. This is a very well thought out product!
