Customers say

Customers find the electric fan effective at cooling rooms and boosting airflow. They say it works well to eliminate temperature inconsistencies and improve efficiency. The vent register does a good job at enhancing airflow. Customers find it easy to install and setup, with simple plug-in wiring. They are also happy with value for money, build quality, and fan speed. However, some customers have mixed opinions on the noise level.

Made a huge difference in my room temp
(Update 8.3.2024)One complaint. Because the new Bluetooth display goes in 0.1 increments (e.g. 64.9, 65.0, 65.1), the fans tend to rev up and down several times before settling in and remaining on. This makes it kind of distracting and often wakes me up because it goes up and down before remaining on. Other than that still a tremendous value. Maybe the makers can release a firmware update that has the temperature going in straight number increments instead of 0.1 increments.(Update 06/14/2024)As of this date, they still can’t vouch highly enough for this type of product. Through the winter it kept my rooms warmer where needed, and during the warm months kept my rooms on the second floor much cooler than without it. I recently purchased another one a couple of days ago because it had a 25% discount. I actually ended up getting a different model that actually incorporates Bluetooth and an app. That just made the value of this product jump up quite a bit. It’s model AC-RBF4-W. I’m wondering if it’s brand new in the model lineup because I can’t find documentation on it anywhere, but so far it’s been actually really nice having Bluetooth connectivity so that I don’t have to go down to floor level to adjust any settings if I wanted to. Plus it’s nice to see what the temperature in the room is without having to get out of bed. Super lazy person here lol. Anyway, if you’re on the fence, I can honestly say they’ve been worth it. Still happy with them and ended up buying four more after my initial purchase.(Original review)What I like:1. Works very well2. Easy to configure3. The digital display4. Easy to understand directions5. Can turn off the display once you’ve set it up6. Relatively quiet at lower speedsWhat I don’t like:1. It’s a little pricier than other brands, but so far it’s been worth it.First and foremost, for those who say the temperature settings either don’t work or are backwards, it’s just not true. Yes, you very well could have gotten a defective unit, but the vast majority of complaints are unfounded and rooted in ignorance of the function of the product. It is NOT a thermostat! It has a thermal probe that registers the temperature of the air coming from the vent. Therefore, if you want the product to push cold air during the summer, you want the fans to kick on when the temperature of the air coming from the vent is at or lower than the temperature preference you set. For example, my room routinely got as high as 78°F during the summer, so I set my cooling trigger to 72°, so any air that is that temp or below will be pushed into my room. My room now regularly stays around 72 degrees. Now the opposite will be true during the winter. My room can get very cold. As low as 55°. That’s freezing in the winter time. So I set the heating trigger to, say, 75°. That means any air coming from the vent that is that temp or higher, will turn the fans on to push the warm air into my room, thereby making it warmer quicker.Hope they helps those who have trouble understanding what the unit does. Just remember, it’s NOT a thermostat.

    Better than expected
At about $50, this little fan was a great investment. The programming was confusing at first, but once I figured it out, it’s working beautifully. Our office, in a room above our garage, was always colder in winter and warmer in summer, no matter what we did. This room is so far away from our furnace that the airflow is pretty feeble by the time it gets here. By increasing the airflow, this fan is pushing the air that would stay close to the floor around the register further out into the room. So now no chilly or drafty sensation, just nicely moderated temps. It’s now almost “too warm”!The fan speed is fully adjustable, and so is the thermostat that senses the temperature of the air right as it’s leaving the register. We set the fan at the middle setting, and it’s still nice and quiet. (I was amazed to see how hot the air is at the register opening when the furnace is on – over 100 degrees!) Our furnace’s weak airflow didn’t move this air out into the room, but the new fan gives it a nice “boost”. It’s working well for winter, now let’s see how it does next summer! This fan may not work in everyone’s situation, but it’s ideal for us. Very pleased with this purchase.

It’s a booster, not a temperature control, make sure you understand this before purchasing
The register does what it is designed for well, but you need to make sure you use it for its intended purpose. It is not a zone controller! The digital display on the register may be misleading. It may make you think that it is controlling the temperature of the room to this level. That’s not what it does. The register is intended to boost the amount of air that goes into a room. For that purpose it works great. The digital readout is the temperature of the air inside the duct (not the room). The register uses the temperature inside the duct to determine when the heat or AC is actually on. It uses this information to know when to turn the register on and off (boost the airflow).Typically, when the duct is not heating or cooling, the temperature in the duct is close to the room temperature. At that point, there is no use in drawing-in air. When the system is heating, for example, the temperature rises in the duct (mine goes to over 100 degrees). By sensing the duct temperature, the register knows when the system is heating or cooling – and knows when to turn on the fan to boost the amount of air coming out of the duct. I have mine set to 100 degrees, because my room shouldn’t typically be that hot. The temperature should only occur when the heating is on. Cooling works in a similar manner. To me, the heating and cooling set-points are purely there to sense when the heater or AC is on and switch on the fan to boost the amount of heated or cooled air into the room. Since the temperature in the room varies throughout the seasons, it is best practice to set the set-point above or below the natural room temperatures. If they are set within the typical room temperatures, the fan will come on and blow what is essentially air that is the same temperature as the room. The way to adjust how high/low the room temperature goes is with the fan adjustment. This allows you to adjust the speed of the fan, and thus the amount of hot or cold air that gets put into the room. It is important to note that this does not guarantee that the room will be a particular temperature, but it should be hotter/cooler than it was before installing the fan. The user would have to play with the settings to achieve the desired results. Luckily, there are separate settings for heating and cooling. The wiring is simple, and the power cord easily routes outside of the register. The fan is quiet on all but the higher level settings. It is easy to install and is of good quality. I was impressed with the way it was packaged.Mine did not have a Bluetooth option, but I really don’t see much of a need. Just another phone app that I would never use. Once you tweak the settings you should be good. If you need to change them, it’s pretty simple.

Tl;dr – It’s kinda pricey but works flawlessly, you get what you pay for. Used for entire heating season. Read below for details:Our home is heated with a central forced air wood/oil combo furnace. One of the bugs of this system is that when we are burning wood (95% of the heating season) the blower cycles are relatively short – maybe 5 or 7 minutes compared to oil where the blower cycle is a solid 15-20 minutes. The trade off is that between blower cycles there is always a gentle convection of air through the vents around the house – it’s very cozy, except for the farthest bedroom and den from the furnace. It really needs the blower action to get hot air up there.I thought with this unit is that it would trigger during a blower cycle then run for some time after the cycle, basically charging the room with some extra warm air. I purchase this unit for the bedroom and a cheaper version from a hardware store for the den because the cheaper unit would not fill the vent in the bedroom. The cheap unit I bought for the den worked good enough – it is single speed, clicks on and you can hear it blowing like a small fan. It improved the comfort level in that room. A bit noisy but OK.This unit is superb! The far bedroom is perfectly warm and because you can play around with the fan speed you can optimize it so that there is virtually no noise. The lower fan speed setting extended the effective run time for that room from 5 minutes up to easily 10 or more, problem solved. Two of the kids sleep in that room and neither of the notice the noise. The unit was unplugged for a few days this winter when one of the kids unplugged it to charge a tablet. The room was noticeably damp and cooler. All said, this thing cost be about twice what the cheap unit did, but it does work twice as well. Previously we had an electric heater in this room, so I’m sure the payback is only a couple of heating seasons.

This is absolutely the best product of this type you will come across. I have purchased it and installed it in one bedroom above the garage which has the weakest airflow. First I’ve tried to balance the airflow with duct work, but room was still hottest during the summer and coldest in the house during the winter. This product has completely resolve my problem and bedroom temperature is now well balanced. Fans are quiet at speed 5, and have good flow, at speed 4 and airflow is similar as the other bedrooms and fans are completely silent, since the product is installed above the garage I have speed set at 5. The hot air triggers the fans ON at 27c (80F) and the cold at 25c (77F), that seems to work fine for us and fans are not running for extended time when furnace or AC are OFF. If I adjust the trigger temp to lower setting fans start to spin sooner and are running for longer periods. It works like this, the furnace starts running, and temperature goes up quickly on the register display. At 27c fans start running and then temp goes up fast to 33c (91F) on display when furnace is running at full blast, and hot air flow, once the furnace stops the air cools off, and at below 27c fans turn OFF. I also installed Ecobee thermostat with 2 remote temp sensors. Temperature is now very well balanced across rooms and my gas bills was $20-30 cheaper per month, but then carbon tax took the savings.Update, Jan. 2022.Everything works as described above, fans got slightly louder after a year, but still run perfectly. I would like to buy another unit as a backup in case it is discontinued.

Amazing genius product! Cannot believe it took me so long to discover it.. I’m using it for my room that is too hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Fantastic quality, from the display panel to the vent itself to the motors. Comes with instructions for set up (super easy and straightforward). Motor comes with 10 speeds and very silent.

I want to start this review off by saying AC Infinity has some reputable products that work great! Like the rest of the reviews on here, I was looking for a way to bring more cool air into my baby room during the hot summer months and on fan setting 5 this thing did the trick! I do have a few things that you might want to keep in mind!Pros:- Pretty much everything that’s said in every review. It’s easy to install, fits perfectly, and delivers a bunch of cold (or hot) air to the room that needs it the most. The fan can be very quiet and I don’t find the loudest setting that loud (we have an air purifier that is 10x louder than this vent).- Customer service is helpful!Cons:- You can’t close this vent. There are instances where we had to close our vent because the room in the winter was too hot when the rest of the house is cold. Well, it’s not possible without purchasing a vent cover. Not a big deal but something to think of.- Everyone states programming this device is easy, which it is, but I find it’s not intuitive. You need to program the device for what the temperature of the room “would be” after the A/C or Heat are on at the temperature of the air coming through the vent. For instance, when the A/C is on, the temperature on the vent reads 10C and so I have programmed it to run whenever it hits 10 degrees Celcius not when it’s above 23C for instance. I find this way of thinking so backwards. I mean, when you set the temperature in the house you set it to what you want it to turn on at not what you think it should turn on at depending on the heat from the furnace. In my opinion, they should have added the thermostat externally to the vent to make this more intuitive.- There is a difference between the actual temperature and what is shown. In the picture, it states 24 when the room is actually 22… This adds to the confusion of programming. All in all, I think if you can get over the weird programming of this device it does work like a charm. It forces tons of air into the desired room bringing the temperature up or down very quickly to your desired temp.. In the end, I’m satisfied with the purchase as it does work exactly as described!
