Maintaining an optimal temperature for rack-mount equipment prevents overheating, ensures constant performance, and extends their lifespan. The LCD digital controller features a programmable thermostat with automated speed control, alarm warnings, status alerts, and backup memory. The system is housed in a solid aluminum construction that takes up one rack units of space (1U). Each aluminum frame is anodized with a light-brush finish, then the corners CNC-machined and edges chamfered for a high-end professional appearance. This model holds six custom-engineered dual-ball bearing fans rated at 67,000 hours, and certified by CE and RoHS. The fans are set to intake cooler air and should be positioned near the bottom of the rack; an exhaust version of this model is available, sold separately. This complete kit includes the 1U fan unit, corded 6-ft thermal probe, user’s manual, rack mount screws, cage nuts, and corded 6-ft power supply. Intelligent Cooling Programming includes an easy-to-use thermostat and a SMART mode that automatically adjusts the fan’s speed to react to varying temperatures. Additional features include alarm alerts, fan failure triggers, power savings setting, display lock, and backup memory. Six fan speeds are available with three screen brightness settings. Behind the unit is an expansion port that can control another CLOUDPLATE unit or an AC Infinity rack roof dual-fan kit. Performance and Applications This 1U rack cooling system features programmable fan speed control, enabling it to work for a wide range of rack mount applications. With a noise level that can reach 8 dBA, the fan system can be used for environments where low or minimal noise is required such as home theater, studio, DJ, and audio video racks. A max airflow rating of 60 CFM will provide sufficient cooling to server, network, IT and equipment racks requiring high airflow. This fan system contains premium dual-ball bearings, allowing it to be mounted horizontally or vertically. Product Identification Manufacturer AC Infinity Inc. Easy Install / Quiet
This installed into my rack easily with the temperature sensor. It detects the increase temperature and turns on as expected and quickly cools the rack down. I use this with an 8U rack for audio equipment. It is mounted in the back to pull warm air out. It isn’t noiseless but compared to other units I have used it is the quietest. If you find it is running at level 6 I would suggest either it isn’t mounted correctly or you need an additional unit to better circulate the air.

Works perfect! Lowered the temperature 5 degrees immediately.
Unfortunately when I was building my house, the electrician decided to place run my whole home ethernet to my garage, next to the electrical panel. Being in the midwest with hot and humid summers, this led to my home rack to sometimes reach 100+ degrees. I had a 2U AC Infinity Cloudplate already in the bottom of the rack. I added this directly above my Ubiquiti 24 port switch. This was able to drop the temperature of the rack by 5 degrees, and I saw a similar corresponding temperature decrease on the Ubiquiti 24 port switch. It’s loud – you definitely wouldn’t want this to be some place where noise is important but in my garage it’s not a problem. I would compare the noise to the sound of a drone.

Keep Rack Equipment Cool and In Optimal Working Condition with this Fan Unit
I currently have a rack box with the Blackmagic Design Switcher set up in it. The unit has a fan in it that may as well be as loud as a freight train. By adding this unit, cool air is introduced into the box lessening the need for the fans on the BMD device to kick on. This unit is whisper quiet, has easy to read LCD screen with temperature alarm set, fan on temperature set and a couple of other things I have not figured out yet. Have not been able to determine is this can push or draw in settings. Mine draws air into the box. I assume there must be another model that pushes air out. All in all, this unit seems well made, looks good and works perfect.

Great unique product to improve rack cooling
It is great to have the ability to blow the hot air out of 1U gaps between high-density high-power nodes! Really glad this product exists. The power adapter took datacenter standard line to line 208V fine. They look great too. Some wrinkles/suggestions for improvement, that’s why not 5 stars:The power adapter has household current plugs, not datacenter, and is quite bulky (airflow issue in HPC). I ended up buying adapters to plug them into the PDUs but that is not ideal either, the PDUs are vertical, and the power adapters stick out more and sag.I ended up setting the speed manually because the temperature sensor is on a cable, it gets in various places in the rack, and it can’t be relied upon for reproducible values. Some kind of a long stiff spine sticking out of the back would be much better. The power line pulls out easily. Good luck putting it back in a full rack when you pull on the cable just a little when working on a full rack. The nuts don’t catch the thread easily and are really hard to attach in the confines of 1U space. I lost quite a few of them falling into the dark depths of the rack. Some sort of removable push anchor that requires access only from the front, with a screw only to secure it, would be much better. The 1U height is tight fit. This is a challenge even if you (re)populate the rack in one direction. Do not expect to be able fit one of these great fan strips into an existing 1U gap.

So quiet at first I didn’t think I plugged it in. Then I saw the display and was very impressed

    Very Intellegent Controls
If you have expensive gear, and want it to last a very long time, you must protect it from heat deaf. I see many people complain about units cutting off at smaller venues and some recording studios. This type of equipment requires 2 things in the rack…. a power conditioner and a AC Infinity Cooling System… 🙂 I wasn’t expecting it to have such an extensive set up intellegent features, I was merely looking to keep this unit cool. I plan on buying serveral more for other rack cabinets that are nolonger in an AC controlled closet. Very pleased customer.

    Very well built, great quality
Various fan speeds, even the highest speed of 6 is really not that loud. Default setting of 4 is very good.

    Functional, sleek, LOUD
I really wanted to like it. I think this whole line of products has very nice styling and can class up a rack of otherwise unremarkable equipment. However, this was for a rack in a home office and I just couldn’t bear the noise it made. Ultimately I returned it and found that a better option at a lower cost was a 1U vented blank with some tiny Noctua fans. The cool part about that is, if you get the AC Infinity thermostat controller unit, you can still use that to control the Noctua. Just be aware that if you get a 5v Noctua fan, make sure you get a USB to 3/4pin adapter which is meant for 5V fans.If you get a 12V fan, get the barrel style power converter for 12V to 3/4 pin fans. (These are also on Amazon, both from the same seller/company, CRJ something or other). Because the AC Infinity Thermostat controller has both the 12 barrel output and the 5V USB output, you can control either. Also, be aware that some companies still a USB up-converter that allows a 12V fan to run on USB. This will just run on full speed and will not be adjusted.

I have both the exhaust fan and intake fan. My rack needs it. The features are great, build is solid. My only wish is the exhaust fan is on the noisy side for a broadcast studio application. The intake is fine.

At higher levels this is far too noisy and the fans have a non-standard connector, which makes switching them out for quieter Noctua fans overly complex.Which is a shame as the built in controller and general design is excellent.

I installed two of these in my (wall mount 9U) rack, in between components that generate the most heat. One is in between two 24 port PoE switches, and the other in between a firewall and a 1U server. They speed up when temperature limits are reached (configurable), and I can see a noticeable overall temperature difference between passive air flow and now active with these. I’ve only had them for about 4 months, and some people have complained that they break down after 6 months – though from what I’ve seen so far (had a few questions) the manufacturer’s support team are very helpful. I would definitely buy again when I have the need.
