Unsung hero for your home
If thereâs one thing Iâve learned, itâs that peace of mind is pricelessâespecially when it comes to protecting your electronics. Enter the APC UPS Battery Backup and Surge Protector, a must-have for anyone serious about keeping their devices safe from unexpected power surges and outages. Iâve got these bad boys all around my house, and theyâve been worth every penny. This little powerhouse comes with a 600VA / 330W battery backup, ensuring that your devices stay up and running even when the power goes out. With 7 outletsâ5 offering both battery backup and surge protection, and 2 with surge protection onlyâthereâs plenty of room to protect all your essential gadgets. From computers and gaming consoles to routers and modems, this UPS has you covered. One of the most convenient features is the built-in USB charger port. At 1.5A, itâs perfect for keeping your cell phone or other small electronics charged during an outage. No more scrambling to find a power bank when the lights go outâjust plug in and relax. The design is as practical as it gets. The 5′ power cord with a right-angle 3-prong wall plug makes it easy to tuck away behind furniture, and itâs wall-mountable too, so you can keep your setup neat and tidy. Plus, if youâre a Windows user, the Powerchute UPS management software gives you even more control, while Mac users can rely on native “Energy Saver” settings. What I love most is the replaceable battery. When the time comes, you can easily swap out the old battery for a genuine APC replacement (model APCRBC154), keeping your UPS running like new without having to replace the whole unit. Itâs an eco-friendly and cost-effective solution that adds to the longevity of this already reliable device. In short, the APC UPS Battery Backup and Surge Protector is a home essential. Itâs not flashy, but when the power goes out, youâll be glad you invested in it. Whether itâs for your home office, entertainment system, or just about anything else that needs protection, this UPS is the unsung hero keeping everything safe and sound.

Reliable Product
It seems I buy one of these about every 3-5 years because one of them eventually fails (I’ve got 4 here).I did buy a replacement battery for my UPS but turns out it was the UPS that was bad (wouldn’t keep the battery charged) and now I’m stuck with a replacement battery because it can’t be returned. But during outages and surges these things do their job and protect your electronic devices, so it’s worth the cost to keep a working one on my computer and electronic equipment. Not the greatest lifetime but considering it lasts at least 3 years I’d say it’s a good value.

Happy to find out they still make this model!!!(BE650G1)
I would have saved myself a lot of time and hassle if I had known this UPS was still available. Family got 3 new computers for Christmas and since we live in hurricane alley(more on that later) I decided to get ups units for all of them.I originally bought 2 of the apc 600’s on a black friday sale (not Amazon) but returned them in less than 30 min when I started reading the reviews and noticed it was light as a feather. It was advertised as having a usb port well yes technically that was true but it did not connect to anything. So in other words this ups had no way of shutting down the computer like a normal UPS has. The other biggie was the thing had a tiny battery and it was not replaceable. Why they did that is beyond me but between that and the faux usb port it was time to return them both. Note Amazon sells the same 600 here but the pictures show a real usb port and I have read they make that model both ways so that one might be ok.After that I ordered 2 similar cyber power units but canceled them after I read they too were disposable units because you could not replace the battery in them. I never could find out what battery they used and that was the tip off. At least they had real USB ports but I wanted to keep looking.I found a triplite 750 that had very good reviews but then one of the reviewers reported they don’t work with Mac’s and 2 of our new computers are those new Mini Mac M1’s so I had to pass on that one. Then bingo I found an old friend called the BE650G1 or as some call it, the ES650. I still have the original model from 2007 and it still works like a charm. I also have it’s baby brother the 325 and it also works just like new.During the fall , I lost track of how many Hurricanes we went through. But in 2 of them both these units worked their hearts keeping my servers and tv going. Around 4am the hurricane hit and the power was switching back and forth like mad. This went on till about 645am when we lost power for good. But this allowed me to watch the news and stay online till that time.So after finding out this unit was still available I ordered 3 of them and sure glad I did. No weird-tiny and hard to find batteries like some of the newer units. When UPS arrived today with my new 650’s, they drove up my very steep driveway to put them in my garage because they are so heavy, The shipping box even had a Heavy label on the side. You can get the battery for the 650 from your local electrical supply company for about half the price that you pay at one of those national battery chain stores. That another reason why I would recommend this oldie but goodie model It also works with Windows, Linux and Macs with no issues and I hope APC will continue making this model for years to come!

Great product, but handle with care
I have used APC for years, and they are a solid product. I won’t use anything else and I have a number of them around my house. The BE750 was my favorite because it had some extra features. Now it looks like the BE650G1 will be my goto unit. Be careful with this newer model. A recent change in their design requires that you handle them with care. The older models had the power switch in the middle of the top face. But they have moved the power switch to one of the corners, within easy reach of a thumb when you pick it up, and simply moving the UPS can result in accidentally shutting down everthing connected to the battery.

I use this device to provide power conditioning and uninterruptible power to my TV and related devices. It will allow me to power down these attached electronics in a controlled and timely manner if power is lost in the house. I get peace of mind knowing my investment in home entertainment is protected from “hard” shutdowns that are not good for senstive electronics.I have 4 APC UPC devices protecting computers, external hard drives and health related equipment in my home. I have used APC products for 10 + years and trust them to protect all my stuff.GordK

The UPS is great, been using it for over a week and throughout power outages and its been nothing but good. Its not the most powerful or not the most in battery life but its certainly enough for the average joe with their router. Its even good for a small amount of mobile power despite not being made for it, i wouldn’t suggest it as you can risj damage to your unit but as for me i am careful so i am fine (i am not responsible for any and all damages made to your unit(s). Any and all careless acts carried out by you is yours and your fault only.) Ease of use is great, just connect the battery, plug it in and hit the power button. Turns right on and starts working immediately, some things to note. In the event of a long term outage, i would recommend checking in on it every now and then as the default alarm doesn’t sound untie the battery is quite low. I would suggest either changing it or just checking in on it after a while. Other than that its a great little UPS and i would recommend it to others. One thing id like to see added is the ability for the ups to change the power button color depending on the SOC (state of charge) would be great to see that instead of a blinking green button till it starts beeping at you.
