OMG this mobo is amazing
OK, I know there is a lot of competition out there in the market of motherboards. There are absolutely better deals that can be found in regards to price to performance comparisons. Mother boards used to be cost conscious; now their prices are getting to extreme levels for those of you who are enthusiasts. If you are on a budget or want a board that has great performance, but won’t hit your wallet so hard, this mobo might not be for you. With that said, if you have the budget, or if you’ve been saving for a computer build and you know what you want and you want to have options to explore now or grow into down the road, this board is AMAZING! If you are a gamer, get this board. If you want to explore water cooling, get this board. If you want to use plenty of m.2 drives rather than sata ssds, get this board. If you’re into RGB and want plenty of configuration options, get this board. There are so many features, you won’t be disappointed. And now for a few caveats. Scalpers have gotten bad. Not only do they scalp gpus, but aspect scalping mobos have become a thing. This board is already expensive enough. Scalpers but up the available stock and try to resell for $150-$600 over msrp. DO NOT BUY AT THIS PRICE! You can find much better boats for that price if you desire. But if you are patient, you will be able to find this board for msrp, so wait it out, purchase from a trustworthy source, and then enjoy all the possibilities this board brings.Next, the Armory Create software is a little buggy. It might be better to update your drivers one-by-one from asus website rather than using armory create, but I’ve noticed this isn’t always the case for everyone. Personally, I feel Armory Crate comes with a lot of bloatware, and I found myself deselecting several programs during installation. But, whatever you do, absolutely upgrade your BIOS firmware. This board can handle DDR5 RAM at higher frequencies, but to utilize the XMP settings without compatibility issues, make sure you have the latest BIOS version. Updating is not as scary as people make it out to be, and it will ensure you have the latest security features and compatibility with the latest RAM.Another worthy mention is that I haven’t upgraded my system in 7 years. The mobo I’m coming from is the old ROG z290 Maximus Code IX. It was a great board for the time, but that bugger is long outdated. Going from that board to this one is night and day. It cannot be stated how much of a performance boost this board allows for. But as there is such a huge leap in technology, I’ll admit I’m a little biased because dang-near anything would have been a huge upgrade for me.TL;DR: If you have the money and want plenty of options and are an enthusiast, this board will be great for you; if you’re on a budget or don’t need all the extra functionality, there are much better options out there.

Top-Notch Performance with ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Formula
The ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Formula motherboard is a standout choice for gamers and tech enthusiasts looking to build a high-end PC. With its advanced ROG Water-Cooling options, the board ensures optimal thermal management, maintaining excellent performance even during intense gaming sessions. It supports the latest DDR5 memory, enhancing overall speed and responsiveness. The design is both robust and aesthetically pleasing, fitting well in any custom build. While I havenât explored all features like HybridChill yet, the experience so far has been exceptional. Highly recommend for a reliable and powerful setup!

Maximus Hero Quality; TBD
3/7/2024 Update- 10/10 performance. Bios flash took 2 seconds for 14th gen i9, ram oc no issue, have yet to have any problems. Fantastic from Asus2/19/2024 I’m waiting on some other parts to arrive, so I’ll have to update this review on performance later.First impressions; Wow! This thing is absolutely beautiful for a motherboard. I double checked the socket for bent pins as I knew asus has had some quality issues here lately, looks like I got lucky. No visual defects. This thing is heavy! Coming from a Z490 mobo that weighs in at 2.5 lbs, this thing coming in at almost 10 lbs is a huge difference! The whole mobo front and back has a metal shroud on both sides. I’m excited to see what this thing can do.

Little Did He Know, This Was The Battle Of a Lifetime……..
Never buy ASUS (This 5 min read will save you hours of headaches)Really quick had an issuse with Dell and they resolved the issue no questions asked no hair pulling, no charges, just a company doing the right thing for it’s customers. This is how it should have gone…..Out of my 8 years in customer service I can safely say this was by far the worst, most frustrating, lie filled experience I’ve ever had with any company. Let alone the fact that this is a major “industry leading” company in the tech sector. I bought a brand new motherboard that was less than 7 months old on the consumer market. Not even 4 months after having this motherboard it literally has been giving me nonstop problems. I’m assuming that after paying for one of ASUS brand new motherboard it’s either, this is covered under warranty or this is covered under my warranty. I built my own PC so i dont really ask for help unless theres a serious issue. (This was my second call) First, i was told to do a series of steps that I’ve already done myself but the first dude already had me do so that was literallty no help. Ontop of that she wasn’t speaking clearly and was getting agitated with me through adding insane staccato with her pronunciation? Made no sense why i was trying to keep her calm. Then after i did the pointless stuff she told me to try a different LAN Port when my motherboard only has ONE. They ASKED for the make and Model at the beginning. Their own employees dont even know what they are doing. Moving on, even though it’s covered I was told that to get new motherboard could take anywhere up to 3-4 weeks??? Those weren’t the words they used of course. They fluff it with sweetness saying only 7-10 business days. Okay well right there that’s 1-2 weeks ontop of shipping it to them (you pay for) which can take anywhere 5-7 business days and then sending it back. So another 5-7 business days, totaling around 3-4 weeks. How is this possible? I don’t understand because as soon as I was told this I went on Amazon and I told them I could just get another shipped to my house overnight. They said they “understand my concern” ….. They told me they were out of stock originally. (If this is the case then there’s a bigger issuse with the company’s supply chain management) So I asked to get someone else on the phone so my issues could get resolved within a timely manner. Not WITHIN A MONTH. When I was transferred. The new dude was a piece of ART, somebody give this man an Oscar for lying to your face hours because that acting was phenomenal. Once we go through the same things the last person had me go through (no clue why if they are communicating with each other) we got to the point where he told me the same thing. I said this just won’t work and I need to be escalated to the next person. I sat on the phone asking this man to transfer me when the only answer I would get was I understand your concern. Obviously you dont because I wanted to speak to someone else. and ab 10 min in he slips and says “if I transfer you” and this royal pissed me off because that means he was lying to me at some point. After this is when the battle happened. For the next 2 hours I was on the phone with the same dude pleading him to give me someone else because in customer service (like I did may times) if someone isn’t happy with the experience you give them. GIVE THE CUSTOMER TO ANOTHER PERSON. We’ll about an hour in this man literally started saying to me “No. No you will talk to me.” Finally, by the grace of God and by me being a paying customer (more so God, they dont care about you clearly) I get him to transfer me. The heaven horns ringing, hallelujah, im seen as a customer! 5 Mins go by. The new guy says “Okay so like I told you 15 mins ago”….. Same guy.. ANOTHER LIE. What the F. Am i dirt!? This is how you treat your customers!! At this point I’m done. 3 hours now on the phone, I can’t get any help. THEY WANT TO CHARGE MY ACCOUNT FOR A NEW MOTHERBOARD and it will still be 3-4 weeks for the one under warranty to be replaced….. Well at the end of it all through my yelling and bickering he finally told me that he was going to tell management (the people I wanted to talk to but he wouldn’t let me because they didn’t have a phone number or email, words out of this guy’s mouth) that they would escalate my issue and cover the holding charges. THIS should have been the first thing this guy told me! But whatever I finally am getting closer to being treated like a real customer. I was told they will call me and send a follow up email. Never got the phone call but what I did get was an email. And yes your right, he lied about everything. not only did this email bring me all the way back to step one but they want to charge me again!!! Nobody communicated with one another at this company and if they did I’m somehow on a blacklist for customer service because all I wanted was to be treated like customer. Abysmal service, I truly mean this. I don’t write bad review because i feel like they hurt more than they help. But i could not allow this to go unnoticed. Imagine a 385 billion dollar company treating you like this….. They have the money. They just could care less about you. If anyone is considering buying ASUS product. â ï¸HEAR MY WARNINGS â ï¸ PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS TO YOURSELF. THE BATTLES ARE LONG FOUGHT AND THEY WILL NOT BUDGE. DO NOT BUY ASUS. THEY WILL NOT HELP YOU â ï¸ And to anyone that has had similar experience, your trauma is recognized and it is shared. The scar marks this company leaves behind on its consumer grows ever bigger. Let these scars be a message to anyone that dares to cross phone lines with this terrible company. We are the ASUS SCAR!!

Something new but neat.
Bought this to build a new computer system for an upgrade. It was a little weird due to all the connection being on the backside of the computer motherboard. After the build was completed, wiring wasn’t even visible on the front for a really neat look. If you like a nice clean look, I recommend this board, but the price is really high especially if you buy the ASUS Hyperion GR701 BTF case that goes with this motherboard.

I initially wanted the EXTREME model, but it was nowhere to be found, so I opted for the next best option: the Maximum Dark Hero. One of its standout features is its DDR5 RAM compatibility, which was a key factor in my decision. Additionally, it offers four NVMe slots without compromising the main PCIe x16 performance, and its extensive overclocking options sealed the deal for me.Paired with an i9-13900K, the motherboard handles a powerful setup that includes an RTX 4090 and Vengeance DDR5 RAM running at 5600MHz (4x48GB for a total of 192GB).What truly surprised me was its weightâit feels heavier than my cat! The build quality is outstanding, with a robust, rock-solid design that features more metal than plastic. Its cooling capabilities are exceptional, keeping the system cool regardless of workload.Iâm particularly impressed with how ASUS designed the cooling for the NVMe drives in the PCIe x4 slotsâitâs both efficient and innovative. This motherboard justifies every penny spent on it.The only downside is that the NVME_1 slot, located above the PCIe x16 video card slot, draws power from the GPU when in use. To avoid this, Iâve left it unused, which isnât an issue given the four other NVMe slots availableâmore than sufficient for my needs.

So glad we decided to use this in our PC . The motherboard has everything you could need for building your own PC or simply upgrading .

No e podido instalar Win11 por qué no puedo activar el arranque seguro, ese problema se repite mucho en los equipos Asus, pero en esta MB nada más no puedo activarlo.
