Still assessing, but mostly happy!
I’ll update when I’ve used this more extensively, but I can tell you that my major areas of concentration for now and in future updates will be 1-battery capacity, 2-screen brightness (I hate when screens are dark by default), and 3-processing speed (I like to have multiple tabs open and multitask).I bought this laptop for simple tasks: word processing, web browsing, etc. For those purposes, so far it seems to be very capable. The keyboard and screen are what I think of as standard in this price range. I like my screens to be bright, but the maximum brightness of this laptop is what I would consider to be adequate. That will obviously have an impact on battery use, although I’m not yet sure what that is.As far as aesthetics, I’m a fan. It looks and feels nice. Although only the cover is aluminum, the rest of it being plastic is not glaringly obvious. It is light, very portable, and looks quite sleek. I love that there is a privacy shutter over the camera.I did purchase extra RAM and space, which may be helping with my perception of the speed and overall function. I still have mine in S-mode, which is indistinguishable from normal mode, except that you are forced to use everything Microsoft, like their web browser, Edge. I don’t like Edge at all, so we’ll see when my dislike of it builds up. If everything else is as I like it, I can imagine using S mode for a long time despite not liking MS Edge. One thing I was really disappointed by, although it’s not in the pictures (to be fair) was the lack of the virtual number pad. Asus calls it NumPad 2.0, and it’s where the touchpad lights up with the numbers and can be used as a number pad. Other descriptions of this model claim that it’s included, but that is not the case. The keyboard is backlit, however.A second, though less annoying point: hovering over the battery icon doesn’t tell you how much time is remaining–only the percentage. To find out what “25% remaining” means practically, you have to click and go settings. A minor irritation.Overall, so far so good! I would say that it is far better than both the Lenovo and HP budget laptops (in similar price ranges) I tested.

Excellent PC for home users
I’ve had 7 PCs over the last 30 years and this one is the best yet. After an easy setup, it boots quickly and runs without intermittent slowdowns. Ideal for my uses, which do not include gaming or high intensity image processing. Display seems fine to me. A fully charged battery lasts about 3 hours.

Very suitable budget laptop.
The laptop performs very well. I mainly use it for Citrix, note taking, and coding while I’m riding a bus. It’s light and doesn’t seem to lag. There is one issue though, the battery seems to only have about four hours. However, on power saver mode, it seems to last a long time. Other than the battery, it seems like a great laptop for a budget price.

It’s a great laptop, more than a year later it’s running smoothly without any issues. No regrets!!

No way of fixing the internet issue
Has cheap realtek blutooth and wireless connectors that go out ALL the time. It is almost unusable at time due to it’s contact lag. On top of that, good luck getting the software to cooperate. Windows and Asus load this thing with all sorts of marketing garbage and trackers. There is no LAN connection. The thing is cheap and designed to steal your personal data.

Asus makes a reliable laptop computer. Wish they and all production would come back to USA
For the money: intel chip, very reliable. SSD hard drive, 20 gigs of RAM… great value.

No wired ethernet connection
It’s okay for the price but it doesn’t have a wired ethernet option. This is important to me since I am usually using it at the edge of my Wi-Fi reach. This gives me an unstable connection which makes this unusable for my needs.I will probably end up giving it to someone who doesn’t have this problem. What is sad is that ASUS tech support told me I just needed a USB adapter to connect an RJ-45 cable to this laptop and it would work. A quick search for the NIC specs told me that it is a wireless only card.If you are using it with a solid wireless connection, this is probably a good economical option. However, that isn’t my situation.
