No audio latency!!!
The bottom line is that I use these earphones for TV (whether broadcast, streaming, whatever) listening and I’m very happy with them. I can’t comment on their use with a mobile phone or PC since I don’t use them with those devices.A couple of years ago I started losing my hearing to the point that I couldn’t hear the dialog on TV clearly so I bought an Avantree Priva III Multipoint Bluetooth Transmitter and a set of random neckband earphones to go with them. My wife and I watch TV together and my thinking was that she could listen to the TV through the speakers and I could listen, at a higher volume, through the bluetooth setup.When I got everything set up and working is when I noticed that the TV sound from the speakers did not sync up with the sound through my earphones – I had discovered audio lag, or latency.A little research (reading the directions) revealed that the Priva transmitter conformed to a couple of AptX (a protocol designed to reduce latency to an acceptable level) codecs. Sadly, the earphones I had bought with the transmitter did not.I figured that since Avantree made the AptX transmitter, it would make sense to get my next set of earphones from them so I bought these AptX capable Avantree NB-16 Wireless Neckband Earphones to go with the Priva.I can say that on my setup the AptX protocol works; the sound from from the earphones is in sync with the sound from the speakers.An unexpected bonus is that one size of the provided ear gels fits so that the earphones don’t block all ambient sound. That means that my wife and I can have a conversation even though I’m wearing my earphones.One deviation from the user manual I’ve noticed is that it is necessary to hold the Power On button through the “Power On” announcement and release it after the “Pairing” announcement is heard. Also, device pairing takes 25-30 seconds after the “Pairing” announcement.I’ve only had these earphones for about a week or so I can’t speak to battery life or anything like that, but as I said above, I’m very pleased with them.

There are a few things you should know first, but I have now updated with new information
In general these are good earphones. The sound is very good and they stay in my ear when I’m jogging. I don’t see much of a benefit to the fact that the earbuds are magnetic and will stick together, but if you want to wear it like a necklace I suppose it makes sense.I had two needs for these earphones. First, I want them to pair up with my TV so I can sometimes use these instead of a full headset to watch TV (such as if I fall asleep, these will take up less room under my head). Second, I want to use them to pair with my cell phone for jogging, watching TV off the cell phone, etc.So bear in mind that to achieve my two goals I need to sometimes be paired with the Bluetooth transmitter attached to my TV and other times paired with my cell phone.Guess what? The instructions that come with these don’t allow for pairing with both a cell phone and a transmitter. Specifically, it says “Note: It is only work for two mobile devices, such as mobile phones and tablets, not for PC and Bluetooth transmitter.” So if you want these to sometimes watch TV on your TV and sometimes on your cell phone, it won’t work. I spent a lot of time trying to get these to work again with my cell phone after first pairing it with the cell phone (worked fine), then pairing it with the Bluetooth transmitter on the TV (worked fine), then trying to again go back to using them with the cell phone. It just would not do it not matter what I tried.Also, while it is true that when I am watching TV with these (I have an aptX low latency transmitter on the TV), I do not detect any problem with lip sync. However, if the volume of the TV is on, such as when someone else is in the room listening through the speakers, there is an obvious out-of-sync condition between speakers and these. Probably the main reason is that these are not true aptX low latency. They may be aptX, but that is not the same as aptX low latency. When you read the benefits of using these, it says “NO AUDIO DELAY WHILE WATCHING TV or PC: These top-rated wireless Bluetooth headphones work with any aptX low-latency supported Bluetooth transmitter (Avantree Oasis or Priva III recommended) for minimal audio delay of 32-40ms (non-detectable by human ear) for a lag-free audio experience. (If your TV is not Bluetooth-equipped you will need a SEPARATE transmitter to connect to it. Avantree Transmitters are Recommended).”So it is not essential that there be perfect lack of audio delay since only your ears and eyes need to be synced up with the TV. But it is essential if there is going to be speaker sound in addition to your earphone sound.Back they go. I’m disappointed for the two issues, 1) not being able to pair with both cell phone and transmitter and 2) not true aptX low latency.Additional information added 9/10/18 follows:I mentioned that I like the sound quality of these — very clear. I also mentioned the inability to pair these with my cell phone and alternately with my TV Bluetooth transmitter, without the need to recycle the transmitter. I saw that as inconvenient. The seller responded to this by offering to give me another NB16 so I can have one set for my TV transmitter and one set for my cell phone. Problem solved.My other concern, related to these not being true aptX low latency, turns out to be livable. I can’t perceive differences between sound and video with these so it poses no issue that these are not true aptX low latency. The only time I would be aware of it is if I am using the speakers on the TV at the same time I am wearing these. Doing that does give a sound sync difference even though I can’t tell a difference between audio and visual for either separately. I can work with this limitation since I don’t need to have the speakers active at the same time as the NB16. Bottom line, the sound quality, comfort, and water resistance of the NB16 makes these a sure bet as an earphone for casual listening at home and working out.

Ik gebruik de Avantree Orbit om het geluid van mijn televisie via een hoofdtelefoon te kunnen beluisteren. Eerst had ik twee andere hoofdtelefoons gekoppeld maar in beide gevallen was het geluid niet synchroon met het beeld.De Avantree NB16 lost die ergernis volledig op. Het koppelen met de Orbit verliep soepel en er is geen, ik herhaal: GEEN vertraging zichtbaar. Beeld en geluid zijn synchroon.
