Exactly What Was Needed After Knee Surgery!
A friend loaned me hear knee ice machine after I had my knee surgery, and having used hers for a few days decided I needed my own, so I bought this one based on reviews.Cooling capacity wise, it’s smaller than the one my friend loaned me, however it’s more insulated than hers was, so it stays cold longer. For best results, I froze several bottles of used Gatorade bottles, with water and use them instead of ice. WORKS GREAT!I was able to quickly put the cooling pad on, connect the device up, put three Gatorade bottles with frozen water inside, fill the rest with water and program it for 30 minutes on / 30 minutes off per hour. The result was my swelling went down quickly and I didn’t need the pain pills my doctor gave me post surgery.A week after knee surgery my stitches were removed and I started PT. I’m well on my way to recovery just a little over two short weeks post surgery. I credit this knee ice machine for being able to recover better & faster, without the need for narcotic pain relief.I’d buy this model again if I needed to. It was a great choice.

so happy with this machine
I had a full knee replacement a couple of years ago and my insurance paid for a refrigeration-based cooling machine that was loud and cumbersome. It kept me awake and was a major drawback to my recovery. In an all-too common example of our messed up health care system, my current insurance would not cover the cost of renting the machine for my recovery for my other knee replacement. I could rent the machine out-of-pocket for $400, or…. I could buy something to keep. I rarely write reviews, but I am so happy with this quiet and beautifully functioning device that decided to take the time to endorse it. It’s easy to use, provides all of the cooling that the other machine provided, and the instruction booklet was even written by someone who understands English, I find that putting ice cubes along with a few frozen water bottles makes for the coldest and longest lasting treatment.

Electric ice pack!!
This has been a godsend !! Works beautifully for automatic ice pack on my replaced knee.you can set up to automatically come on (needed in middle of night). Quiet, easy to use, & best of all you can turn off by yourself if care giver falls asleep !!I put plastic bottles in freezer ( they stay cold longer than ice) better than going thru ice like crazy.Anyone getting surgery this is a small investment for a huge win!!

Stopped working after 30 days update
Update, vendor was very quick at responding and provided resolution. Very good customers service. Improved rating is for customer service response.Worked great for 30 days but today stopped working. I bought another pad to use with it now the whole thing is useless. No way I can see to contact the seller. So I am leaving this review. I needed this because I had a total knee replacement. Now I have to use ice packs that don’t last throughout the night. Very unhappy. Total waste of money.

A terrific unit -if you have it beginning of your injury
After hearing many people who own similar units and had great experience, I decided to invest in one too.Too late. By the time the product arrived, it was my 3rd week of injury. I was prescribed a lot of pain meds to cope with the swelling of my foot in first 2 weeks. I had a talus bone fracture. If you are considering this unit for a hurt ankle/ foot, itâll be most helpful initial 2 weeks of your injury, and then youâll need less and less as the swelling goes down.Had I had this unit earlier, I believe I might have rely less on oral meds and kept the swelling (very painful) to a minimum. For the unit itself, I found it the BEST one of the 3 Iâve researched. A friend loaned me their Breg polar care cube unit that their doctor âgave themâ (their insurance covered the cost, how nice right?). I thought since itâs âhospital gradeâ, theirs must be superior? No, this Nehoo is way more user friendly; it fits 2 yogurt/ ice cream tub size ice blocks (reducing you having to make buckets of ice daily). The cover slides in and out easily, unlike my friendâs Breg, which is a battle to completely put it on with the handle âcatchesâ.I like the fact that it has control on the interface, allowing different options eg 30 min cycle time. This would be very useful if you had make surgery and bedridden for a long time and wants the ice machine to run continuously without having to get up and reset the system. That way you donât even need someone to help you.Itâs also bigger than the Breg which keeps the ice and ice water cold longer – bigger container means it holds more ice and less need to replenish cold water/ice if you need to use it all day.For reference, I used it 2-3x a day but had I gotten it first couple weeks of my injury, I would have been on it probably twice as much and twice as long because my foot swell up 4x bigger after the accident. The swelling was so painful that I ended up doing foot ice baths. That was instant relief but messy and I needed my spouse to help me set up the ice bucket etc This would have been a game changer. As I entered my 4th-5th week of injury, my back actually needs icing more than my foot because I started to learn to walk and one side of my back is compensating so much since I couldnât completely bear weight on the bad foot. That causes a lot of constant back pain all day long. Chiropractor/ physio therapy etc only temporarily relief. This ice machine is used in between visits.I also like the soft grey nicer color than the Breg blue. The only thing it is inferior is that itâs pretty loud. I donât know that until I tried the Brege and the latter was noticeably quieter. The price is also midway. Not the costliest on Amazon. I found a similar unit on temu for a lot less, about $80 but it took forever to arrive so like I said timing is important when you are using these recovery tools. Also the Temu one has a collapsible bucket and the bucket is smaller than the Breg, so my guess is it probably will not be able to keep the ice and water as cold and long as these two above mentioned. The Temu is however, a great option for those who have a tighter budget. Other than the bucket, the pad and cord all seems to be compatible.Make sure you Google and watch a video on how to empty the water inside the pad when you are ready to store it.I highly recommend it for anyone with shoulder, knee, foot injuries. Because my friends who recommended this unit to me had such injuries and all had positive experiences.See side by side video comparison with the Breg unit.Hope this review helps those on the fans decide!

Has helped love it
This has helped a lot with this surgery I had malucus surgery in both knees in March wish I would have learned about this machine then. This was a full knee replacement the machine gets cold but my husband froze 6 water bottles he put three in there every morning swap them out if I needed them after about 8 hours or more. It has the setting 30 minutes on and 30 minutes off if I could set it my husband can. I would buy this again if it would go out itâs worth every dime. We set it up on a bar stool because of the reviews said it would leak and it needed to be taller in the air to get flow have had no problems. He put water bottles in then filled it to with water donât go above the fill line . We used towels to prevent water from getting on the floor when changing them out. Itâs very quite canât hardly tell itâs running.
