Works as intended
Originally bought this battery backup, as we experience many minor power losses in our area. This battery battery backup has worked flawlessly to keep our computers up and running when these occur. We also had a hurricane pass through recently, which also put this battery backup to the test. During the power outage following the hurricane, we used this battery backup to charge phones and run our internet. With this fairly heavy usage (3 phones fast charging + internet), the battery lasted about 2 hours. Not very long, but acceptable given it’s small size. One minor gripe I did have with this power outage, however, is the beeping noise. When the power goes out, whether unplugging or actual power being out, the backup will beep. This can be turned off, though it did require a google search to figure out as it was not super clear.

Works well
This works really well. The power has gone off a couple of times since I acquired it. It switches on seamlessly and it gives me time to save my work and shut everything down.

Re: UPDATED!!! Read last paragraph
****READ THE BOTTOM PARAGRAPH FIRST!!****This units were plugged in for more than 4 months, they both were fully charge at 100%. Once the electricity went out due to the hurricane Milton, the battery pack never started to work after the power outage, I had to use a flashlight to upload the video below showing the unit not working as they advertised they supposed to work after an outage for 52 minutes! If you have electricity the unit will show 100% charge, once you get an outage, the units are dead right on the spot.I will update my review after the supplier responds to my emails and phone calls. Hopefully they make it right because I bought two (2) battery backups and paid a lot of money!*****UPDATE***** The supplier contacted me today 10/14/2024, after they look at both serial numbers of my two Battery Backups, they told me those two battery backups were BUILD / MADE in the early year 2023 NOT 2024. The supplier also said that AMAZON should of NEVER hold on their storages old battery backups because these batteries needs to be sold right away after they make them and if these batteries backups are sitting on a storage for so long the batteries eventually wonât work at all and I needed to do a disposal of both of them and the supplier is sending me two replacements battery backups at no cost this week. I ASK the supplier to please; A- Do not sent me any used one or any recycle ones and B- Do NOT sent me a new one that was made a while ago to please send me a new one made this month, this year model. The supplier agree and they even sent me an email as a receipt to dispose of the batteries.LAST UPDATE!!!Received two new batteries from the manufacture as they promised. All good and the date and year is 2024. ALL GOOD! Kudos to the manufacturer who took take of me as a new customer!!!

Simple, low-cost UPS
I purchased the EC650LCD to power a pair of large managed switches (24 and 48 port w/ PoE), a cable modem, router and a couple other small peripherals during brownouts and short-term outages, separate from the UPSs that operate my servers and desktops. For this relatively low power application, the CyberPower UPS works well. The internal battery is a bit undersized for its output capabilities, so runtime under heavier loads will be fairly short. This UPS is compact and laid out well, and can fit in tight places. It is more like an oversized power outlet strip and can be used as such. The unit has the capability to shut off other peripherals plugged into the non-uninterruptible outlets, but only of the UPS itself is connected to a computer via the included USB cable. The UPS senses the computer being turned off via the USB connection, and cuts power to some of the surge-only outlets as well as the battery outlets. This is a nice feature to have, printers, speakers and other peripherals will be powered off automatically when the computer is not in use, saving energy. The battery inside the unit can be replaced, but doing so required disconnecting the unit from power, removing all connected cables, and opening the unit using a Phillips screwdriver. In other words, it’s not a simple swap, nor is it a hot-swap. The battery is a commonly available, commodity 12V 5AH AGM battery. No need to toss the unit when the battery eventually expires, no more than ten minutes with a screwdriver and you’re back in business. This little UPS is ideal for smaller desktop PCs, DVRs, game consoles, small NAS systems and other similar applications with a light power draw. There is enough runtime to get you through a typical brownout with no lost work, and enough battery power to gracefully shut down without losing important files. Do not buy this unit to power larger gaming PCs, servers or other items close to the 650VA/390Watt maximum rating of the UPS, the runtime will be very short (less than 3 minutes), possibly not enough time to adequately shut down connected devices. For these applications, pick from larger “tower”-style UPS units containing larger batteries.

It works great as a small battery backup
This is great if you only have a few items you need to plug into battery backup. It will keep a router, switch, and modem up and running for about 30 minutes after a power outage. It may not last as long if you are also running a PC and monitor from it.

SO FAR, SO GOOD!
I HAVE OWNED AT LEAST A DOZEN APC BACKUP POWER SUPPLYS AND EVERY ONE OF THEM HAVE GONE BAD WITH-IN 2 YEARS. I REPLACED THE BATTERIES IN ALL OF THEM WHEN THEY QUIT WORKING, (WHICH IS USELESS) BECAUSE IT DID NOT FIX THEM. SO, I HAVE ABOUT A DOZEN USELESS BATTERIES BECAUSE THEY WON’T TAKE THEM BACK. I’VE EVEN OFFERED TO PUT THEM IN A CERTAIN PLACE FOR THEM BUT THEY DON’T EVEN WANT THEM BACK, AT ALL! WELL, DANG!THIS TIME, I BOUGHT A CYBERPOWER ACTUAL 850VOLT AMP, 510 WATT UPS SYSTEM. I ONLY HAVE THE TV, DISH RECEIVER AND CLOCK CONNECTED TO THIS THING A TOTAL OF LESS THAN 300 WATTS BEING DRAWN FROM THIS APS SYSTEM. SHOULD LAST FOREVER! IT’S BEEN WORKING FOR ABOUT A MONTH, NOW! NO PROBLEMS, EASY HOOKUP, QUIET, INEXPENSIVE, LOTSA BANG FOR THE BUCKS! I’M HAPPY, AGAIN!

There’s nothing quite like the peace of mind that comes from knowing your important devices and appliances are protected, and this UPS system has consistently delivered reliable performance when I’ve needed it most.I’ve had to rely on it several times over the past few years and it hasn’t let us down yet. CyberPower clearly designed a UPS system that can withstand the test of time and provide dependable power protection. It has 8 outlets and offers ample power and versatility to keep my essential devices up and running, even during extended outages. Plus, features like ECO Mode help optimize energy efficiency, saving money on electricity costs while reducing environmental footprint.

Completamente recomendado.

I got this UPS to replace an old one with only 8 outlets. This one has 12 with a choice of surge, battery powered and eco mode.I don’t have to use extension cord like before… not enough outlets. :-)The software coupled with the UPS works fine and have all the infos I need. You can turn off some alarms if you want, very usefull. So far everything work fine.
