This is an interesting magsafe accessory that can be used in a few ways. There are three parts connected with hinges so you can adjust it to fit a few scenarios:* The base plate has a hole that fits standard tripods, so it can be a tripod mount. This is my favorite tripod mounting system for an iPhone: putting it on and taking it off is quick and simple (because of the magnets), and it is easy to adjust. But best of all it does not interfere with using the main camera! I have used other magsafe tripod mounts and the post that goes from the phone to the mount is visible when recording video from the main camera. This one just has a slim ring hinged to the middle section, which stays out of the way. Worth the price of entry just for that!* As a desk stand. It actually works fine as a bedside/desk stand on its own. The hinges are stiff enough to hold the phone in a reasonable position for night mode or upright. However, it is very top heavy in this setting and falls over with any bump. If you want to use it this way, it also comes with a metal disc with a peel-off adhesive so you can stick the plate to a desk and then the mount attaches to it with a magnet. Nice!* I suppose you could use this as a car mount but attaching the metal plate to your dash? I haven’t tried this so I don’t know if the magnets are strong enough to hold to the mounting plate over bumps. Maybe?* In an airplane. The idea here is to slide one side behind an upright tray table and then position the magsafe mount to hold the phone for you while you watch video. Haven’t tried it, but it seems like it would work.* As a grip/popsocket. It works for this, but not as well as a dedicated gadget. It’s a little thick and bulky to keep on the phone full time, and the hinges are stiff enough that you kind of need two hands to adjust it. Still, it does an okay job, which is impressive for a multi-use device like this.All my testing was using an iPhone 16 Pro Max with a leather case. The magnet strength on this gadget is perfect.
