    Awesome new power station
I am a user of multiple products from EcoFlow, including one of the original River series power stations. I looked forward to this newest version, the River 3 once they announced it was coming. I was not disappointed. This is a small form factor power station that is good for travel and when you don’t have a lot of room but you need something to charge up some of your portable devices or power some small appliances. This weighs in about 10lbs so it is easily moved by most people. Out of the box, I was impressed with the feel of this device. It just seems really well put together. I plugged it into an AC outlet to charge it up and just as advertised, it charged up very quickly. One of the things that I like very much is the accompanying EcoFlow application. When I opened the app, it immediately recognized the new device via bluetooth. Setup on my network was quick and easy and required no real effort on my part. As I looked through the app, one feature that was new to any EcoFlow device that I have seen was a section that showed the current Wifi connectivity. It allows you to verify the connection, see the signal strength, IP address, and even the MAC address. Very handy indeed! It will let you change to a different network, if needed and is just an excellent feature. It is so handy that I even emailed EcoFlow and told them they need to add this to ALL their device applications.I used the River 3 to charge my cell phone and also to power up my laptop, both use USB C connectivity. This is a 300 Watt device with an X-boost up to 600 Watts, so it will handle most small appliances. It is super quiet also. Even when it was charging, I had it in my bedroom while I was sleeping and didn’t even hear it.If you need something as a UPS support for a network device or some other small appliance, this device will handle that job. It has 20 MS UPS support, which I tested. It worked flawlessly. I have a network based over the air tuner/DVR that is very sensitive to power outages. It kept going when I unplugged the AC without a hiccup. Very, very pleased with this device and so happy that I made this purchase!

Packs a punch, powerful device, slick design
EcoFlow continually refreshes their product lineup, and I have to say, this third generation is looking extra slick. Coming from both the original River Bank, River 1, and River 2 series, this River 3 has inherited much of the same DNA but evolved.First things first, this thing is light…about 7.7 lbs. The greatest design refresh is that the carry handle no longer protrudes past the box profile like it did on the River 2 Pro. That makes it so much easier to fit into standard spaces. The unit itself is 245 wh, which is enough to power a laptop for a long work session, even with multiple external monitors attached. I tested it during a mountain getaway, and it performed flawlessy. The fans are quiet, and the unit includes 2 AC plugs (one grounded), 2 USB-A ports, 1 USB-C PD (100w) port, and a 12v cigarette lighter port. Unfortunately, there’s no wireless charging or expansion battery slots or even an LED anymore. But that’s not the intended goal of such a small unit. This one aims for portability and straightforward use.The buttons and power ports are all on the front face, which includes an easy-to-read LCD readout with important info like watts and hours left. It’s rated for 300w (600w with the X-boost feature), which I tested to its max. It actually pushed past a few watts for several minutes without any noticeable hang-up.You won’t be powering any space heaters or hair dryers with this, but for small appliances, the River 3 is ideal. Solar input is decent too, and I like the improved features in the accompanying EcoFlow app, which enables things like slow or fast charging, charging/discharge limits, and much more. The device can now even function as a true UPS with under 20 ms switchover. This is now my go-to unit for cafe work on my laptop. While the River 2 Pro is more powerful, it was simply too big and heavy. The River 3 gets me through a long work session without problem, and the lightweight and compactness make it far more practical. I do wish it allowed for expansion batteries, but that seems to be reserved for the higher models in the River 3 lineup. Would have been nice to have a couple more USB-C ports and at 140w, but not a big issue. Overall, the River 3 rocks.

    Compact, Light, Powerful!
It feels solid in it’s construction. Immediately I noticed the display was acting odd. I gave it some time to see if it would function normally; it took a few weeks, but it seems to be working normally now! Bluetooth works; the unit charges devices nicely. No 2 way type C to recharge the unit, but I can live with that, and a type c XT60 adapter. If you don’t need the display to work properly, it’s still a solid bet, much lighter than I had expected, and it fits nicely in a backpack.Stores enough juice to keep a celery network running for several days, alongside a light and a fan, while keeping a couple flagship smartphones topped off on our travels.

A great little unit if you don’t need much power.
Very nicely designed and built, small and lightweight, and with controls that operate logically. There could be more and better explanations of some functions and features in the manual. We had to learn quite a bit from help files and social media, plus ultimately an inquiry to the support department. But it now works easily and reliably, and recharges very fast. We can run a 12 volt electric throw blanket at 50 watts for about 5 hours. My only criticism is that the unusual handle design unintentionally encourages setting the unit down on its face. There is also a small hinged plastic door protecting the AC and DC input ports, and this looks pretty vulnerable to accidental breakage. But we shall see.
