Immediately after opening the package, I tested the strength and size of the clamps that hold the phone in place. My phone in its protective phone case fit snug with a bit of room to spare to open the clamp.The design for the magnetic base is excellent! The magnet is strong enough to hold the weight of the stand and phone wherever I place it, and it has a rubber cushion to prevent scratching the surfaces you mount it to.

I was so excited to get this magnetic phone holder for the gym. It holds my phone tightly and I do not have to worry about it slipping out of the grip nor it falling off the metal poles. It holds steady and the phone doesn’t twist and turn around. Great quality material! I highly recommend!

The phone clamp is very strong – I feel totally confident that the phone will stay in the mount for 99% of all scenarios. The magnetic base is a lot more âmagnet stickyâ than it looks and is able to grab onto to steel with a strong grip. The ball joint pivot works smoothly.Provided that the magnetic base has a nice flat magnetic steel surface, the whole mount will be VERY SECURE. The problem becomes if the metal isnât totally magnetic, or is coated, painted over â the magnetic stiction isnât the best. Make sure to test the magnetic stickiness before totally letting go of your precious expensive smartphone.I would have preferred the pivot joint to be tighter so if it wears down a little over time, the phone will stay in position more firmly. I also would have liked the base to be wider with an additional magnet to make the base even more magnetically strong. Ball joint support fails
The ball joint fails quickly. Without any way to tighten ball joint so the phone can stay straight up, this makes the design flawed. The loose ball joint results in the phone slipping and unable to support and stabilize phone in a vertical position.
