Engine Cooling
This is an excellent book. When I first saw it I couldn’t imagine you could write an entire book just about engine cooling. But the author has really made it very interesting and I learned a lot of things I didn’t know before. I recommend this book to anyone interested in how their car’s engine cooling system really works.

Infomercial!
If you’re looking for a general understanding of a cars cooling system, this is the book for you. If you are looking for any cutting edge information, or actually want to do any design work, this book is not for you. It is light in its technical information, and doesn’t really give enough information to actually undertake a design project (you can always resort to trial and error, but you can do that without buying a book), and at best it merely points you in the right direction. Worst still, it seems to have been pretty much been sponsored by Evans Cooling, and spends more time extolling the virtues of their products than it does educating the reader. There aren’t that many books about cooling systems out there, but this is by no means a bible. At best its a good introduction, a casual light read, at worst its academically dishonest, packaging an advertisement as technical material.

A glorified ad for Evans cooling products. I’d return …
A glorified ad for Evans cooling products. I’d return if I could. Contains the word “Evans” over 115 times. If it was not an ad it would not use specific brand names.

Not what I expected
This is not helpful at all to anyone it seemw to be just long book promoting evans cooling never heard of it anyway waste of money dont make my mistake

Wow
This is knowledge that you need. It may be centered around a certain product a little but when its the only product that stands heads above the rest you can do that. There is a lot of potential for engine advancement with this information properly applied.

” Knowledge ….IS…Power …! ”
I found it an excellent source of information about the cooling system written in ” plain speak ” . It explained not only each component but the importance of a ” total system ” approach when modifying an engine . If you’ve been experiencing ” overheating problems ” with your hot rod and can’t figure out ..” why ” … this book will be a life line . The fact that there was a marketingcomponent in the book and a certain amount of redundancy …did not botherme in the least . The fact that the authorrepeated a lot of the technical data …just re-enforced …for me …it’s importance . As an engine builder / automotive instructor I intend on passing this along tostudents and racers .

Approach with caution
Questionable concepts and theories. Does not provide sufficient proof/evidence to support some of the counter intuitive statements made in this book.

Not great, the most interesting parts of the book are copied almost word for word from Heinz Hessler’s automotive engineering fundamentals, so buy that instead.Whilst the book does cover both an overview and also individual components, the content is fairly basic other than the copied parts, and I found little in the text at really taught me anything new.

Offers a in depth scientific look at the internal combustion engines cooling system with a practical approach. Very good for the average backyard mechanic to the highly skilled engineer.
