This ESR wireless charger is light weight, strong magnet and charges quickly. It does produce a little heat which is normal for wireless chargers. It works well with all my magsafe cases. It uses a USB-C connection to YOUR power block, so charge times might vary depending on what you use. Overall its a solid product at a great price. Its nice to have them in places around the house. Desk, coffee table, night stand etc. At this price it really cant be beat.Things to note:2 HaloLock Qi2 Wireless Chargers included – USB-CNo Charge Block included.The charge cable is hardwired to the pad, with sufficient length for most applications.

This is an aftermarket version of the Magsafe disc available from the phoneâs manufacturer. What is does is the same, but there are a few important differences. This is what they are.WHAT YOU GETFirst impressions mean a lot to me and this one does not disappoint. ESR is a well-know seller of accessories so its not like I was dealing with a nobody. That becomes important to me when buying things like chargers or cables for a phone that costs a thousand bucks, itâs not worth it to go cheap and end up frying my phone. The presentation of this device is excellent, maybe better than the one from the phoneâs maker themselves. This disc appears to be larger, thatâs probably because it is thicker and more angular. That isnât a positive or a negative, some may consider the larger size to be slightly better for heat dissipation. I believe I read in the description that this has a USB-C connector only, that is not true, there is a C-A adapter in with the disc. What you donât get is a charger so read the instructions carefully so you donât get one that is underpowered or overpowered.QUALITYThis is one area where this definitely outshines the one from Apple that is stratospheric in price by comparison. The strain relief is beefier and the braided cable is much more robust. I would choose this one over the one I bought with my phone any day. Oe side of the disc is very shiny and the other side is matte. You will learn by trying which side goes toward your phone but hint, it is the shiny side. The cable length is acceptably long so you can use your phone with the disc attached and it is charging.IN USEIt is fully compatible with my 15 Pro Max and charges in a reasonable time, that is not super important to me because I charge my phone overnight so speed isnât much of an issue. This does get warmer than the OEM part, noticeably so but not hot. These chargers produce heat as part of the way they are designed so donât panic, just be aware and donât lay it on a high quality tabletop while charging. One thing that is very important, and has been a cause of concern with some other mag chargers is that if you use a phone case, most of them have a lip around the camera lenses, and some charger discs wonât fit over the phoneâs magnetic circle because of that. This one clears it adequately, although it is close. All this may change because I am two days away from the launch of the iPhone 16 Pro Max and I may have to update this if necessary.VALUEValue is why I bough this. I already have several chargers but right at the moment they are locked in a storage unit on the other side of the country. I didnât want to spend a lot, but not necessarily buy the cheapest one, but this one actually turned out to be the cheapest one and I would have no idea why anyone would pay a penny more.YES NO MAYBEThis is one of the best values Iâve found in a while, it is as good or better than the OEM brand but a fraction of the price. I like the braided cable and the glossy black looks less utilitarian. I like it.

Not just for iPhones, works great with Pixel 8 Pro too
I had purchased one for my wife, and she uses it regularly with her iPhone 14 Pro Max Ultra Mega Plus whatever phone. It’s been great. I set my Pixel 8 Pro on it and it lit up and charged. Sweet.I then ordered another for myself to use with my Pixel. After a couple of weeks of use, it’s working great and I’ve had no issues.The Good:Cord isn’t attached! – use it without charging as a stand – stores in a bag easier than with a cord – use it as a grip even when not charging – can leave it on the back of the phone, if you like using it as a grip or stand, and plug it in later. – Small size, easy to leave on phone or travel with – very thin. – Charging speed is good on both iPhone and Pixel, not as fast as wired, but completely adequate. – Looks nice, well built. – Kickstand is sturdy and locks open or closed well. – Different colors, not just white like some phone makers use. – Magnetics are super strong – Stable charging connection, I tried another maker’s wireless charger and it worked, but would disconnect and reconnect somewhat randomly. This ESR connects, charges with no disconnects. Very nice.The not so good: – Gets warm when charging either iPhone or Pixel. This isn’t unique really, other wireless chargers do this as well. – Works so well, my daughter just took mine back to college with her for her iPhone. I’ll have to order another for myself now.What could be improved?Not much. The one thing I wish it had, is a 1/4×20 female thread on the center in back. This is the standard for light/consumer photography gear – and would allow me to mount it on an arm (or tripod) to both hold (at eye level) and charge my phone during work or personal MS-Teams/Zoom/G-Meet/Facetime calls. That might be too niche to ask for, but if it had it – it’d be a solid 5 star. It’s very close to perfect.

When I first got this, I was mightily impressed with the quality, feel, and snap to the MagSafe feature of the charger, plus the kickstand meant being able to tilt the phone while charging (would this help in keeping the charger cooler? I wondered.). Well after several months of use, I find that 1) it is super convenient to just snap the phone on to the charger for a quick top up of power. 2) the charging speed depends on the power delivery of your adaptor (5w vs 65w etc). Be warned that the charger does get quite warm when charging. I have a Spigen case on my phone that is certified not to affect the MagSafe ability of the iphone 14 Pro max, so I do not think that the charger gets warm because of the case. I mostly use the case to quick charge and top up my phone (20% – 80%). Once i did use the charger on the phone while watching some YouTube videos, and noticed that the battery was draining almost as fast as the charging input, so that after 1 hour of watching, the battery on the phone had only charged by 20%, plus the charger was very warm. As it gets warmer, appparenly the efficiency of the charging goes down. What I find now, is that throwing the phone on the wireless charger for 20-30 minutes and not using the phone, takes the charge from 20 – 80% very quickly. That works just fine in the morning when having my coffee and getting the day started.I can recommend this inexpensive wireless charger to those looking for a convenient and quick charging device ~ get a good PD / GAN charging block.UPDATE:I have updated my review to 4.5 stars because ESR has some ROCKING good customer service. I gave a neutral review because they ESR Kickstand charger gets hot / warm when in use, so the ESR Customer service team sent me the ESR Halolock 2 in 1 charger with âCRYO BLASTâ. This charger gets 5 stars as there is a built in fan in the MagSafe charger that keeps the device cool when charging. I tested the charger and watched a 2 hour movie on my phone as it sat on the charger. The temperature was totally cool! The fan totally works at cooling down the MagSafe wireless charger. As a bonus, the base of the unit allows for charging of the apple airpod pro earbuds. The design of this charger works so much better too, because the charger holds the phone elevated off the table at a useable viewing angle. Spend a little bit more and get this 2 in 1 charger from ESR. Boo yeah. Totally happy with this newer wireless charger. Highly recommended, and thank you ESR for the great customer service! Thank you Theresa, you are a rock star, and an asset to ESR!
