    Google
the phone works great, had it for a long time now, the only issues are, 1. Make sure there’s no apps running without you knowing it when you boot it up. And 2. Can’t just delete photos without allowing Google access to your photos so you have to take the card out and load them on your PC then delete pictures which is a real pain.

Terrible phone in almost every way.
Original phone i got would not charge. Literally 8 hours on the charger got the battery up to 47 % and then it drained so fast again. I asked for a replacement and was sent one. The second phone is soooooo painfully slow. I restart it constantly and it may work ok for a couple hours but then it just freezes up and stutters and responds to touchs late. There is a section of the screen at the bottom near the physical buttons that does not respond to touch at all. Battery life is better on the second phone than the first but still not very good. At least it charges decently though.

The phone works, but the charging port does not.
The phone works fine and is pretty resilient. However, the charging port did not work. I ended up having to buy a wireless charger so my son could charge the phone.

    No frills solid phone
I purchased this phone because my plan on keeping my old phone until the battery was essentially a paper weight worked perfectly. The conversion on verizon was just as simple as moving the SIM card over. Data transfer was almost flawless via the transfer app. One thing to consider is ensure your contacts are backed up to the cloud vs just on your phone, otherwise the “New phone who dis?” will be a part of your life. I have dropped this phone, on the ground, in a hot tub and generally treated it poorly. No issues yet. My only real issues are its slow to load apps, and honestly i will trade that for the fact its cheap, and durable.

    Worked great for 18 months
I knew there may be an issue with a refurbished phone, so I am not terribly upset. I bought this in October of 2020 and in January of 2022 the battery needed to be replaced. The phone would sporadically restart. A week later it would only stay on if it was plugged in. I replaced it myself and it worked for three more months and started to malfunction again. It is possible the batterie I replaced it with was not an OEM even though the make and model were the same as the one in the phone which is what I used to find a replacement. This would explain the lag when I would pull up an app or even text. After talking to a cell phone repair shop, I determined I would need an OEM, but they said they did not have any and that Kyocera probably does not make them anymore. They make one that should be compatible but there is no guarantee that the same thing will not happen. While it was working it was a great phone. I use Verizon. I wanted a rugged smart phone but didn’t want to pay $900 for one of theirs. Even though I have to get another one, this was still cheaper. Also, it didn’t go out suddenly, so I was able to get a new batterie and then a new phone before I was completely out of luck. Also, I liked the fact that I could replace the batterie myself relatively easily. Just needed a small screwdriver. I am only out $20 for the batterie, and it bought me 3 more months.

    Really is water resistant
I bought this because I live near the river. I go fishing hiking camping, even though I have a motorcycle and when it’s on the bike I was afraid the rain was going to destroy my phone so I got this one. Dropped it in a 30 gallon trash can full of water at work for about a minute picked it back up and it still working like brand new I’ve watched it and rinsed it off dealing with flGrease and oil at work and other food products so far I give it a 10 out of a 10.

    Problematic device.
Had this phone for less than 2 days. Don’t waste your money, or your patience. Had issues with the sensitivity of the touchscreen. Actually solved it by slapping the phone on my leg. Then had issue with malfunction while trying to text. It made an unexpected call to another phone and couldn’t stop it soon enough. Couldn’t find the red hang-up button fast enough. Couldn’t see why it made the call to begin with. Was just scrolling through seemingly unrelated stuff. The display setup is chaotic. Ended the phones screen when I got frustrated and slammed the phone down on the table.. FYI it’s not that undestructible.

Make sure it was properly refurbished
I bought this refurbished phone because I had broken mine, but because I cannot get a replacement screen I thought of just swapping out the main board. I have been doing tablet and cellphone repairs for several years and when I opened this one, it was missing the seal; a crucial part that makes it water tight, not only that; it was also missing every screw in the phone. If you do not know how to disassemble this phone I suggest you never get the refurbished one anywhere near water or trust it in an intrinsically safe equipment zone like the natural gas fields.I am glad that I had to do a swap anyway because I was able to find and fix these defects using the parts from my broken phone.
