Hardware Very Nice — Bad Software Surprise
The hardware on this PC is first-rate. The screen is beautiful, the keyboard is clean (although not back-lit), and the processors and memory are great. The reason for the three stars (lucky it is not two) is that I researched very diligently to try to find a PC that was affordable and was NOT delivered in Microsoft S Mode. Nowhere in the documentation for this PC was S Mode mentioned; it did say Windows 11 Home but I do not believe that automatically results in S Mode. I was able to exit S Mode, but there were problems. The major problem was that for many hours I could not successfully access another computer on my home network. This PC sometimes “saw” the other PC, sometimes “saw” a computer name that meant nothing to me, and sometimes would not allow me to see the network at all. What MAY have finally solved the problem was putting in AND SAVING the credentials (why does microsoft use terms such as credentials instead of name (or ID) and password??). So far the access to the other PC has been stable. If the stability fails again, I will have to either wipe and return this PC, or wipe and reload Windows 11.Final note: Given that I needed to access another PC on my home network, if I were not a retired IT Manager, this PC would 100% have been returned or I would have had to pay someone to untangle this mess.

So far well worth it for $399
I’ve needed my own personal computer for some time now, been relying on my work computer for too many things. First the good, the build quality is really good, feels solid, and the runs window 11 and office apps quite efficiently. Now the cons: The keyboard, I find it a bit difficult to center my fingers as the key are low and smooth and the notches could be a bit more raised to insure correct finger placement. It’s not a touch screen, I have to keep reminding myself of that. I’m not a huge fan of touch pads as they tend to be overly picky where you push, a mouse solves that issues. Lastly, they added the number pad which surprising fits well and does not cram the keys together or make them too small. However, I rarely issue it, so dropping this, enlarging a few keys (ie delete key) would have been my preference even if it meant more open space around the perimeter. Anyway, minor cons, so far it’s working well for what I needed and (note I am not a gamer) and think it’s a great value for the money!

Missing the basics – Huge Regrets!!
Keyboard is not backlit – HUGE MISS!! Totally different power cord and power connection – how dumb is that. Keyboard in general is not very good nor is the mouse. Cannot read the screen at all if there is light. Fonts are super tiny as well so impossible to read anything. A touch screen costs an extra hundredI wish I had never bought this. It’s not good at all. I have a ten year old Lenovo that is better than this stinker
