Nice laptop with a built-in backdoor
The laptop itself is very good. Had some sticky stuff on one side, but I removed it with water and ethanol. No scratches, some light wear on the touchpad, battery in reasonably good condition. The machine itself is really nice. The only problem is – it has Absolute Persistance (formerly known as Computrace) enabled. It’s built in BIOS/UEFI and can’t be disabled by the user. So former owners can remotely do whatever they like with this laptop. I think the seller should have made sure to Unenroll all the devices they sell from Absolute.

Bios issue and mouse pad peeling. CRAP!!
Mouse pad was sprayed or painted black. Very odd. Im a computer tech. This is odd. Not a good buy. And there’s an F1 cmos bios issue when booting up. Not just incorrect time but another problem.

Like new, except for the battery
Looks and smells like a brand new laptop. Zero wear on the touchpad and no scratches on the body. Really pleased with this. But the 80% battery claim means the unit should last ~12 hours in saver mode, in reality the battery report shows closer to 5.5 hours.Does not come with Windows Hello, which is a bummer, but i guess i should have checked the SKU before buying, my old Gen 6 did have this.

Software lock
I love the laptop and extremely happy with my purchase, my only warning is that my laptop was a refurbished computer that came from a company. The company had a software that locked the laptop in the case of it being stolen that was still installed. I was able to unlock and remove the software after calling the company that installed it.

– Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 6 i5-8350 16/256 arrived in excellent condition and I am very pleased with the purchase. The machine looks brand new and functions perfectly in all the work it takes to do updates and initiate a new computer. The CPU was 8250 instead of 8350 listed and the battery is at 72% instead of the more than 80% promised by Amazon, so I contacted TechResetOnline and asked them for an adjustment. I know these are small differences, but they promptly issued me a refund appropriate to the differences. Besides this adjustment, they had contacted me before shipping to show me the product they were sending. I was concerned about what may have been a photo blemish on the screen and told them a clear screen was more important to me than a blemish free exterior. They found one that satisfied me. I consider this level of service excellent and that it promotes trust in the company, besides offering a personal, responsive contact person before and after the sale. I would certainly buy from this company again.

As the heading say’s, the laptop was excellent but I bought the wrong one. I meant to buy a Touchscreen laptop so returned it and the seller replaced it in super fats time. I’m super happy with the customer service for my mistake. The seller has even replaced the laptop with a more expensive laptop and paid for the overseas export cost’s. I’m really grateful for there help and understanding that’s something very rear nowadays.
