Refurbished Works well
Saved a little money buying the refurbished one. But wanted a new one . It’s sold out without a restock date. The refurbished one seems to work great so far. Arrived in like new condition and haven’t had any problems with it.battery last a long time and I read daily. I can easily read in any light conditions.

Good little device
With a wider screen, it’s well-lit, easy to use, downloads books quickly, lighter than my previous version, and comfy in my hand.I wish they still showed the time at the top. I now have to consult my watch, which is a pain. And I’m not a big fan of the yellowish light. I prefer a crisper white background, but whatever. It’s not like developers are going to take heavy users advice. Still no way to properly sort and organize the files, no sub-files, no acceptable method to organize our library, but this was obviously developed by a non-reader. Note to the developers, ASK A HEAVY READER WHAT THEY NEED. I have thousands of Kindle books, and am frustrated about my inability to track what I have, and organize them.

I’m really liking this paperwhite
I have a Kindle Fire 8 and use it a lot. I was wondering if the paperwhite would be easier on my eyes than the glossy screen on the Fire. It turns out that the Paperwhite has a very soft matt finish, which keeps the room light from shining off of the screen and into my eyes. I have not tried this out in the sun yet. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I can change the font to the smallest size and read it with no problems or distortion. The brightness needed to be turned up some, but the results are beautiful to my eyes and comfortable for them as well.This turned out to be a great purchase and getting the refurbished model saved me a bit of cash that can be used to buy a few more books. That is a win/win in my book.
