Performs well, with a few surprises
Remember that Contadina ad: eight great tomatoes in that itty bitty can? I wonder if maybe they use laptop components, because this PC is the size of a stack of 3 frozen waffles. It has an internal wifi adapter, which is not mentioned in the product description. The fan is a little noisy, which is not surprising given the narrow vent slots, but is surprising given how often it runs during very low intensity tasks.Would I buy it again? Yes!

Excellent product.
2 years in and working great as part of a custom sit-stand workstation.Updated information that I could not email to the manufacturer:Hello:This is what I am talking about:I added inserts to the short side of the base so that the PC can be turned 90 degrees in its orientation from where you have located the threaded inserts for the monitor mounting bracket.Your engineers obviously need to use some common sense about how the PC should be mounted to relieve stress on the cables. When mounted to the back of a monitor, the connections are at the top of the PC. They should be on the side to hide the cables better and relieve the tension on the cables and connections, as seen in the pictures.Threaded Inserts: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088QJG676M2x4mm Screw: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00F33TAV4JB Weld for plastic was used to fix the inserts to the base: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B5VJZ5XW?amp=11/26/24: Added; https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08BCSV1L2 to double the memory; same memory that is in it, looked up what was in it and ordered the same. Was running at 50% memory load and slow, now running at 25% memory load and fast.Sincerely,Greg DudleyCommon Sense Engineer.

Runs perfectly, but the fan is LOUD. . .
I bought this as a simple internet box for my den TV. . It boots quickly, runs flawlessly, and is basically overkill for what I’m using it for. The fan, however, spools up to distracting noise levels when the box really isn’t doing anything that should make do that. I’d tried adjusting settings in BIOS, which I might add is very granular and almost overloaded with tweak options. Made zero difference. I just noticed the review by Jak that said reseating the CPU heat sink with new thermal compound made a difference. So, into the box I’ll go. . .

Perfect for a small server
I had no idea why this thing was so cheap at $250, but it arrived and it’s really a 5825u! Inside, there’s a spare m.2 slot, and a spare memory slot. I upgraded mine with a matching 16GB 3200MT/s stick from Teamgroup, which was only $25.Currently running debian, casaos, with crafty controller for a minecraft server. Performance is great! It outperforms my older n100 by orders of magnitude! Backups are speedy now with more threads and it handles entities like nothing! If all you wanted was a media box for streaming and retro emu, honestly I’d just go to wallyworld and pick up a $20 ONN 4k tv box with its 4 core 2ghz arm a35, which can even decode av1. But if you’re looking for something that can run x86 apps at decent speeds, I can’t recommend this mini pc enough, especially if the price to performance ratio stays where it’s at in the market. There are better deals on the used market for price/performance servers, sure, but at least here you have a return policy if the thing doesn’t work, and you won’t have to troubleshoot or clean who knows what kind of dust.
Mine wonât connect to my monitor it keep saying no signal and I use the same hdmi cord for a laptop and it worked –
Not workjng
Itâs not connecting to monitor

AMD 5825U version
This PC was 245.99 and I don’t understand why. As of right now this is the only mini PC that utilizes the AMD 5825U. The price is really low and I’m thinking of buying another to run my UnRAID home server. I’m running Proxmox on it with Kubuntu and Pi-Hole. I’m just astonished on how well put together this PC is. If you’re looking to run home servers, networking apps or cruising the internet this is a good buy. Kudos to GenMachine for making an outstanding product for a very good price.

Ultimate utility PC, does everything very well!
We have had this GenMachine 5825U for about nine months now and thought I would add my two cents from my experience with it. We purchased our PC from a retailer in Asia and improved the specs to 32 DDR4, 1TB + 256GB SSDs upon taking delivery. We use it primarily as a living room PC with KODI and occasional retro gaming on the living room TV. We don’t run it every day but throughout the nine months, we have been incredibly satisfied with it.Everything has run flawlessly even the slight wifi issue we experienced was fixed with a driver update. Admittedly, with the small form factor ventilation could be improved upon but the fan noise mentioned by others has not that noticeable to us but that may be because our PC is located about 8-9 ft away near the TV.The most impressive thing about this PC is the 5825U chip, it has not missed a beat whether its 4K videos or emulation. For whatever reason, this 5825U based mini PCs have not been as popular but our system has completely replaced the 3400GE based HP 705 G5 which was previously our living room PC. One thing I did want to try was to replace the AC adapter to a 90W model and see if there are any performance differences but havenât found a good replacement yet.At the posted price, it is probably not a good buy at this point but we have been totally happy with the overall performance of this system. The overall build quality of GenMachine has been great too, the metal body gives off a premium look and feel.Attached are photos of system size and port comparison between the GenMachine Ryzen 5825U and HP 705 G5 Ryzen 3400GE.
