Lots of GPU performance at a reasonable price
Graphic cards are expensive if you need high performance.I went to the PassMark Software site looking for the highest performance per dollar spent and the GeForce RTX 4060-based GPUs gave the best performance at the price range I was looking at. The other nice feature was a maximum power draw of 115 watts so I didn’t have to upgrade my power supply. It is working great for the photo editing and photo AI enhancement that I am using it for.

Decent little GPU
Upgraded from 1650 super. Which the 4060 is definitely way better than that. Itâs insanely power efficient. I would say it runs really cool but the case I have it in is a straight hotbox. Overall good performance.

Doesn’t have anywhere near the issues people says it does.
It’s not a 4090, but I’m plenty pleased with this card over the past 9 months or so for a little less than $300.It’s pretty ridiculous that people will tell you that this card is not even suitable for 1440p gaming. Unless you’re trying to go 240fps or something, then sure you might struggle with this. What resolution you can play with at at least 120fps will vary wildly by the game anyway. Sometimes fps isn’t terribly impacted by resolution either. Some games you can do 4k 120fps on high settings like CS2, but I wouldn’t expect that out of CoD whatsoever. And if you don’t play all that much of AAA games, this will very comfortably play 4k for a great deal of games, if not then 3k, or 2k if you want at least 80-100 fps. Keep in mind that games are just not well optimized these days at all, so experience will vary per game.If you want to use frame gen, your best experience will be with the game already running at least 60fps (while you’re at 70-80ish% gpu usage tops). Anything lower and it’ll be smeary, artifacts, flickering, and have significant input delay… if not the game genuinely lagging. If it doesn’t have plenty of frames to work with, then it’s like an engine starved of fuel. If you’re emulating, you can get respectably decent results with stuff even locked at 30fps. There will be some graphical issues, but as long as you have gpu% headroom, input delay shouldn’t be all that noticeable, if at all. 60fps tweaks in emulation can introduce numerous issues, and you can just avoid that entirely with framegen with a few compromises. Input lag becomes a major factor when you’re trying to use framegen when you’re already basically maxing out your gpu. That’s not even input lag, that’s just performance lag at that point. It’s icing on the cake if you still have headroom for a given game (and they didn’t somehow mess up their implementation of it), but it’s a detriment if you don’t with it turned on. It’s not perfect, but once you’re familiar with it and know how to appropriately apply it, it’s quite great and worth the money.Anyone who tells you there isn’t much difference between 4k and 2k on a 27inch monitor genuinely needs their eyes checked. 4k you almost, almost can’t perceive pixels anymore sitting around 2-3 feet away, and you kind of feel like you’re looking through a window.

I’m not a gamer, but this GPU does work great with video editing. When not editing, at idle, the fans don’t kick in until needed.

MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4060 8GB GDRR6 128-Bit HDMI/DP Nvlink TORX Fan
I’m not a heavy game. My other card was getting old and glitchy so I upgraded. I play Runescape and browse the internet. I had no problems whatsoever installing this. I already had the latest drivers from Nvidia. After installing and hooking the power cable into the card, all I had to do was change the settings on my gaming monitor. So far it’s ran without any problems. I don’t overclock although I have the MSI Afterburner app installed to monitor the card. All in all it’s a well built card and I hope it lasts for years.

The MSI 4060 8gb is a solid choice for a budget GPU, especially for a first purchase or if you’re upgrading from older tech. I upgraded from a (now old) 1050 ti, and it has been a pleasant experience. The 4060 was easy to setup and get running, in both Windows and Linux (dual boot setup). It runs every game that I play very well, especially when compared to my old GPU. The form factor is good, and should have no problem fitting into a standard ATX case. It runs very quiet – the cooling fans only turn on when the GPU is under a workload, and I don’t notice any increase in noise. The power consumption is relatively low as well, it is very power efficient. If you are running a 30-series GPU already, this might not be the upgrade for you. The increase in performance would be minimal, and the narrower memory bus (128-bit vs. 192-bit) and lower ram (8gb vs. 12gb) compared to the 3060 is a downside. In that case, you might want to look at a 4070 instead. If your GPU is older than that, then you should consider this GPU for sure.
