Works! Easy Install
This item really works. The magnet is very strong holding . Got this as i have a loopy case (brand name) and had a hard time finding anything that would work with this case and this one works! I have a Samsung Galaxy S9+ so not a small phone but was able to handle the weight of the phone just fine. Ordered a extra magnet to put on the back of my husbands I phone case which is a leather foldable cover that way he is able to use the mount in my car . This is a win win for both of us! I highly recommend especially for any of you Loopy case lovers out there!

Convenient mount for your cell phone
The Nite Ize Steelie Vent Mount works very well. It’s nice to jump in the car and just instantly mount the phone. There are two parts to the kit; the vent clip which is a padded clip that easily clips on to the vent. You push on the level to lock it in place and pull on it to release it if you want to move it. The other part of the kit is the phone mount. Be aware that it’s critical that you mount this level on the phone. I learned the hard way which if it’s just eye balled in place, the phone will tilt one way or another.The mount on the phone (I mounted mine to the phone case and not the phone) is a magnet and has a slight bulge. However, it looks rather nice with the rubbery red center.All and all, I would recommend this.

Does not stand up straight.
It pains me to write this review. Because I have had steelie brand accessories for years. I never have a new phone, without putting a steelie magnet on the back. I have a mount in my work truck. My car, even on my refrigerator for when I’m reading recipes. But I started using multiple vehicles at work, and needed something I could move from vehicle to vehicle quickly. The problem is that it is too heavy with the phone in it, and it just always ends up pointing down to the floor where I can’t see it for my GPS. I tried every single set up I could do to get it to work, it’s just not strong enough. I even tried using just the vent clip, same issue. As I’ve said. I love steelie products. You can check my orders, I’ve been buying them for years. This one was just a miss.

On the positive side, the Steelie Orbiter Vent Mount Kit is small and therefore good for car hire.But on the not-so-positive side, I have to keep correcting the mobile position when driving. And in comparison to much cheaper car mobile mounts, it’s way too expensive, like over double!I would have sent it back, but the conditions for return are clear – the item is not eligible to be returned if damaged in any way, and it is virtually impossible to remove the metal disc from the phone without some sort of damage.The concept is good but I’m sorry it doesn’t quite cut the mustard!

I have used the Steelie for a couple of years now and I’m buying another one for our other car.This little magnet disc sticks powerfully, even to my third phone case (on a smooth plastic surface). To be honest, I didn’t expect it to stick so well. It has never fallen off and each time I needed a razor blade to prise it off in order to transfer it to the next phone case.The clamp sits on my vent. It’s so simple, so cool. No idea why it didn’t work for the other guys.Maybe the trader exposed a batch of these to heat and destroyed the glue? If my second order doesn’t perform like the first, I’ll just send it back.
