Excellent Phone
This is an upgrade from the Samsung A42 5g. I dialed down the settings because I found some unnecessary and now I get over 3 days battery life with a good amount of use everyday. It’s just a very solid phone and I can’t complain!

Can’t Find Anything To Dislike About It Yet
After reading all the reviews about this phone for several days … especially the most negative ones, I decided to buy it anyway. When I received the phone, it’s condition, printed user guide and packaging, including the charger and usb-c cable appeared “new.” Even the plastic bag which it came with stated so. When I powered the unit for the first time it had no problem booting to the setup screen which was in Spanish and indicated that its 5000mAh battery was 50% charged. Although it wasn’t difficult to change the language to English, I decided to power it down and wait until it was fully charged before continuing with the setup. This took around 30 minutes to complete. I needed to completely transfer as much of my data, folder, contacts and apps from my old Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime to this Samsung Galaxy A25 5G so I used the free Samsung app from the Google Playstore to accomplish this. The transfer over wifi took a few hours and only left out 5 apps which were relatively unimportant and easilly reloaded to the new phone from the playstore.Trying to save a few bucks, I then tried to switch my sim card from the old phone to the new phone myself. I followed the online instructions provided by Metro by T-Mobile, but this is where I encountered a problem. The IMEI number was not recognized by Metro and suggested I call for assistance. I wondered if the negative comments about this phone not being truly unlocked and not working in North America were true, so I decided to stop at this point and just wait until I could visit the nearest Metro store for help. The following morning, I did so. To my surprise it only took all of under 5 minutes and at a cost of $26.78 for a new sim card plus an activation fee to have me out the door with my old phone number successfully transferred to the new phone. Since then, the Samsung Galaxy A25 5G seems to be functioning just fine. I love how bright and clear the screen is. Its responsive and easy it is to use inspite of the fact that it is light years more advanced that my old one. I’m still learning about all its innovations and how to use it properly. Imagine, within a day of receiving this new phone I went from a smartphone using Android 7.11 OS to Android 14 OS!!! Would anyone believe that had I not needed to switch to an an Android OS of 11+ just to be able to utilize my car’s Andro Auto Infotainment System fully, I would still be using my old J7 Prime?!Though not as powerful as the latest Galaxy S or N models, its specs including it’s screen, video and multi-camera resolutions, refresh rate, processing unit, tactile response and even its storage expandability are fairly impressive if not respectable at such an affordable prize. If down the road I find anything to dislike or complain about it, I’ll be sure to write an addendum to this review. In a nutshell … I can vouch that this phone works just fine with Metro by T-Mobile cellular carrier in Florida (or at least my neck of the woods, East Central Florida) and can make calls either over wifi or just using cellular data.

Great phone, battery life not great and sometimes doesn’t charge
Perfect phone for me in many ways, but when “Fast charging” it sometimes just…doesn’t. And the battery life is not great so I keep it on Power saving all the time which means I effectively have a 4g phone.Takes great photos though. If I were doing this again I’d look into the battery life better. My son bought one after I did and his does better, so maybe I just got a dud.

The phone stopped working after seven (7) months and Samsum refuses to fix it
The phone looked and still looks pristine. But there is a bright 1/4 inch white line on the display now and the display does not react to touch in several places. No scraches, no dents, no cracks, no water impact.I have tried to have it fixed with Samsung as it is less than 12 months old but Samsung refused stating it was not purchased in the US. When I was buying it the title was ‘Samsung Galaxy A25 5G (SM-A256E/DS), 128GB 6GB RAM, Dual SIM, Factory Unlocked GSM, International Version (Wall Charger Bundle) – (Blue Black)’ so it wasn’t looking like something from the outside of the country…If the seller sees this message I would greatly appreciate contact. I will remove this post with your help.(I will send, if this is possible, this message to the seller.)HOWEVER Samsung claims it is not supported in the USA and refuses to have it fixed.

I specifically bought to use in Brazil and it worked fine there.
I specifically bought to use in Brazil and it worked fine there. It also worked fine in the US. The one problem I had was that most of the vendors in Brazil tried to swap out the SIM card. For some reason, US carriers prevent that from working. Not sure how they do it, but by using the second sim slot it worked fine. So I used Mint Mobile here and Vivo in Brazil, but Claro also worked.

Fast Delivery
I ordered the same phone from the carrier, but they required a signature on delivery. For various reasons, we failed to connect, and we eventually canceled. This phone from Amazon showed up the next day. We already have two Galaxys, which are top-rated as a great value.

Made for Brazil Market so may not work well in North America
I got this phone specifically to use in Mexico and USA since I travel frequently between the two. I saw “Latin American Version” So I assumed it was probably the phones sold in Mexico and Central America. However, I should have checked the version first (A256E/DSN) since this is not the North American version. What does this mean? You can use a website like frequencycheck which will tell you all of the bands that a phone has and also what networks they are compatible with.Of course this has all of the bands to work in Brazil so it will work 100% in South America. However, it is missing many bands that are used in North America. This phone may not work for 5G in Mexico as most of their carriers use the N5 (850 MHz) and N38 (2600 MHz) bands for 5G. It does have other 5G bands so may be a hit or miss on connection. It looks like it does support most of the needed 4G bands for Mexico so it does have partial compatibility. For the USA, it only supports 3 of the 11 5G bands; 0 CDMA Bands, 9 out of 16 LTE bands, and GSM. So if you intend to use this in the USA, good luck. It will be a hit or miss on connectivity and this will greatly depend on the cell tower near where you are.If you want a phone that works in the North American Market AND also works in South American and other markets then get the unlocked USA version of this phone. You will have to pay $100 more but it is guaranteed to work on USA bands and because the USA supports so many bands, it will also work in other phone markets.
