Filter out the BS
First, I’ll say I do not like Thermaltake. Their software for the RGB is annoying. With that being said, their hardware is exceptional. I have been building PC’s and using Thermaltake products for many years. This pump in particular has been in two different builds over the past year and half. It runs strong, is super quiet, and I can trust that it is going to last a long time. In the current machine it is pumping through 2 360mm radiators and no problem with flow.

No significant problems
The reservoir is watertight, assuming you make the connections properly, and the pump is quiet on its highest setting. That’s the most important things to me. The inlet tube makes sure air trapped at the top of the reservoir doesn’t get entrained into the water flow and circulated out into the system. It’s a common feature on reservoirs, but some don’t have a long enough tube. The mounting is a little clunky, I mount it to the floor of the case and I don’t need the vertical mount bracket sticking out the back and making it look part finished. The pump wiring is long and colorful, which doesn’t go with the black wiring on the cap. The pump/reservoir comes with a USB hub with another Molex connector, seems like they could have done something to reduce the wiring. It also comes with a micro USB cable for connecting to the motherboard. Fortunately my motherboard has plenty of USB connectors, and I don’t need any of the conventional USB headers, so this wasn’t a problem. In my case the pump drives water through two water blocks, two large radiators, and an inline mesh filter rapidly enough to keep the exit temperatures from the water blocks down to 10C over ambient. If I need another reservoir/pump this would be high on my list. I bought it on sale, so it was an easier choice at that time.

Overall it’s a great pump. The controller sucks and the rgb wires are trash. Also laing and Goulding
make them. Which is a plus.Wish I got a laing because theh are the best but this Goulding one seems to be working out very. Great pump over all. The rgb wires on mine also ripped because TT did a terrible job at this part and didn’t seal or glue them into the housing. They just let a pair of wires soldered to the top very very very thin like 24-26ga wires, which is junk. Bet this is more TT than goulding/laing.The pump is strong and powerful and to the people who wanted a better pump speed selection location. You are ignorant in pumps That isn’t how it works, Laing and Goulding pumps work like that. Most 1 block and 1 rad designs only need level 3 to 3.5 at most. 4 if you have a gpu block and 5 if you have 2 rads. A gpu block and cpu block, hell even 5 seems like a but much.Anywhoo, I love the pump. If I had to say one thing I wish the top came off so I can give it a good scrubing when it gets dirty and so I can burp my water easier and use bigger bottles to pour it all in.Not sure how people jeep having theirs die? The pump portion is made by a two reliable and high quality pump makers in the aquarium industry with some chinese company making the rest of the housing. I will say though the 12v plug is absolutely trash quality. Like it’s so bad you need to align the pins into a molex connector cause they won’t lie up and the molex plug is made out of milk jug plastic.Overall this pump had a great idea with bad execution on the wiring and rgb options.TT makes good cases but from seeing this I’ll never buy anything TT that is electronic other than their cases they are becoming lower in quality.

Awesome pump/res
Excellent build quality and operation. Non PWM so you’ll have to manually set the desired pump rpm. Kind of tall so it fills in a bit of that unused space. Just beware that the pump speed selector is located on the bottom of the assembly and that could make it tough to change rpm. Flows great, runs quiet. Very happy with it so far.

RGB is complicated to setup, but pump is working
Pros:1. Nice looking, be sure to add at least 80% to reservoir.Itâs very quiet when it doesnât have to work hard so make sure once again that you have added about 80% to the reservoir. **** I canât stress this enough. If you turn the pump on and water is still being sucked down the reservoir it isnât quite full yet**** itâs loud when it needs coolant but quiet when it doesnât.2. My configuration: I added a bitspower T-valve to my outlet port at the bottom, straight off the pump. This is working great. I let it bleed for 24 hours with the fill port open to remove bubbles.Cons:1. The instructions are horrible. I have the plus model. I still donât know how to use the RGB cap, theirs a controller and a whole bunch of cables that made my head hurt. If I figure it out Iâll update on how I got mine working.2. Iâm coming from a EKWB kit and the only reason I canât use that one is because the case Thermaltake 900 doesnât have holes pre-drilled for other reservoir/combos but their own.3. No header controls. This is running off a molex connection from your power supply. Be sure to use a jumper to do testing. Not necessary but be efficient.4. I donât believe the lid comes off on the Plus RGB model. I could be wrong but I didnât risk forcefully taking it offTip: if you get some leakage near the outlet port and you have a drain valve running on it, tighten it the best you can with some gripped pliers if possible. You should see your o-ring at all.Update(05/12/2020): I set my pump to 5-speed.My radiator is a 240mm CoolstreamUPDATE: Stopped after a year. Loud grinding noise and now I think it might have burnt up my CPU.

Nice D5 pump/reservoir It’s not too loud on speed setting 3. Perfect fit for my ITX build , cools my Ryzen 5800x CPU at idle 34c and peak load at 64c. Will have to see later when I add a GPU water block to my FTW3 Ultra 3080 as that can get pretty hot under load. Not disappointed at all with this pump.
