Easy Upgrade for Synology DS918+
The title says it all, I think. Based on a couple of reviews below, I bought these to drop into a Synology DS918+ NAS. Both stickS fit like theyâre supposed to; the NAS recognizes the memory and to date I have had no problems. Apparently thereâs no need to to this type of upgrade for something like a Plex server, as Plex is more dependent on CPU cycles than memory space. My use case is a bit different, so I expect the additional memory will come in handy. Compared to Synologyâs âapprovedâ memory, the price of this set makes it a no-brainer.

Installed in synology Ds918+.Booted after a bit longer than typically first time.I increased the cache in plex. The posters now load much faster, and all libraries appear right away. This memory works!Ds918+ requires DDR3L. This is compatible with DS918+.

When I ordered this RAM memory I ordered for my Acer Laptop which is a PC. When the memory arrived, one day earlier than promised, I opened immediately and noticed that the packaging said for MAC. At first I thought I would have to return it, but decided research the difference as it looked the same as the PC RAM.I discovered that RAM for a MAC will also work for a PC, but you can’t use PC RAM in a MAC as the voltage is different. I installed it and it was recognized right away. I had also installed a Sandisk 1 TB SSD a few days earlier and WOW! the old (2017) Acer ES15 now runs like a brand new computer….Great Addition!

I ordered this laptop memory for my Acer R7-572. This laptop is still working great but I wanted to make it run just a little bit more faster. So, I upgraded the installed SSD to a bigger, newer and faster SATA SSD (1TB) and the 8GB (DDR3 1600MHz 4GB x 2)total memory to this 16GB Kit (8GB DDR3 1866MHz X 2) memory module.So far, so good. Laptop is running stable and a little bit faster than before. I generally buy Corsair memory but I gave this Timetec RAM a try and so far so good.
